Auto repair is taking FOREVER

Anonymous
My car has been in a shop in Rockville nearly a month, and I’m at my wits end trying it back. It was in an accident mid October, and a guy ran a stop sign
and hit my right back door.
They keep putting me off saying it’s almost ready. They have to paint, and it is the same song and dance.
I called a friend today and he got in touch with them and jacked them up. Just all empty promises and a nightmare.

I’m paying through the nose for a rental car in the process.

What do I do to get my car back? These people are certainly not getting 5 stars from me.

What does your insurance company say?

A friend had a garage holding onto her car for ages and eventually another employee blew the whistle and rang her to tell her that it had been damaged at the workshop.

You take your car back without paying a dime, saying they're lucky you're not making them pay your rental. What jerks.

What does it mean when you say your friend "jacked them up"?

Talked to them basically to get the status of the car.

The insurance company said that they would pay between 10 days to 2 weeks after the accident occurred and after that it would be out of pocket. It took a long time to find a good body shop (this one has a lot of 4-5 star reviews on Yelp).

Could it be Scuderi's? They tried to short change me on my repair and I went with the body shop that MY insurance company uses. The person who hit my car paid for my rental. All 2 months of it until the insurance finally totaled my car. Did you go through Enterprise for the rental? I was fully reimbursed for the rental.

Seriously? Why would you need a friend to call them and "jack them up"? It sounds like a phrase meant to indicate threatening or being harsh or demanding. No?

LOL Just so that you know, that is not what "jacked them up" means.

Well your brother is pretty funny for that. I guess he wanted to make him self sound like a tough guy.

Yes I went Enterprise. Once I get the bill for everything, I get $300 back.

Btw, this Precision Collision Auto off Gude Drive. Nice guys but don’t keep their word or promises.

Get another quote. Were they recommended by your insurance company? If your car is paid off would you consider getting a new car? Mine was only a few years older than yours and my new car is light years ahead of the old one. You only have a few more good years left.
