Who will win the LCPS school board election in Broad Run?

Anonymous
Andrew Hoyler was selected to fill out a term, and is running as an Independent. He was generally praised by Republicans when he was selected, but now they are running their own candidate.
A Democrat won the seat last time, and they are running their own candidate as well, someone who looks like he is a student at LCPS.
I think the Democrats tried to stop Hoyler's selection with some shenanigans by some of the school board members.
Not sure if Hoyler voted that way, but the current school board chair is a Republican and it seems they would have needed Hoyler's vote to make it happen.
The Republican candidate is basically running against the Democrats on a no CRT line, while the Democrat Nick Gothard in college was very supportive of equity and helped start an equity committee of the student council, alongside resigning his position because he was in the room as someone said negative things about the Black Student Union that were considered racist.

I though school board elections were non-partisan.

Bwahahahahahahaha definitely not in Loudoun.

To the OP, I honestly have no idea. I hope not the republican. I really like Hoyler - although he seems a bit naive at times. My rep (Reaser) is super liberal and politcally ambitious so I don't feel like she actually cares about constituents, she just wants to get liberal street cred for future offices she wants to run for.

Hoyler has gone above and beyond in his current term. I have a lot of respect for him and hope he’s re-elected.

Same opinion of him here. I would strongly prefer him to the other 2 candidates, based solely on his actions, involvement/engagement with the community, and communication with residents in his district over the past year.

I hope Hoyler wins. And if he doesn't, I hope he runs against Corbo for the At Large position when her term is up.

What do you mean Republicans and Democrats are running candidates? These are non-partisan elections.

I have to think the people who got hoodwinked into voting for Youngkin over the phantom menace of CRT and all the trans stuff learned their lesson and won’t vote for anyone still parroting that messaging.

+1
But I doubt it.

This is completely false. The Dems are running Gothard and Repubs are running Polifko. Hoyler is running as an Independent because he was far too centrist to be endorsed by either party, I pray to God he wins.

One can only hope but the brain-dead that voted Youngkin in are still stupid.

Why in the world they could not have gone online and read for themselves at their own school district to see CRT was not taught in one class in VA is beyond me.

Idiots every single one. Morality police will bite them in their kid's education.

Virginia schools will be destroyed by YOUNGKIN and MAGA. The dumbing down of America has already started. Rape panels are headed your way VA. You idiots opened the floodgates to 10-year-olds being looked at by old white dudes.

LCPS school board adopted culturally responsive learning around 2019-2020.

Officially, they are supposed to be non-partisan. But it is very clear based on the messaging and endorsements of both Gothard and Polifko that isn’t the case. I, too, hope Hoyler wins.

Are we seriously going to be stuck with Tiffany Polifko as the Broad Run rep? People really thought Gothard was a better choice than Hoyler? God help us.
