Who will win the LCPS school board election in Broad Run?

People are lemmings and vote how they are told. The D sample ballot told them to vote for gothard. Idiots. Hoyler is great. D’s deserve the loss.

“At a polling station tucked into Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Broad Run district, Joel Cruz, a 38-year-old data center technician, cast his ballot in the school board race almost at random. Cruz, who generally identifies as a Democrat, said he picked Polifko simply because he recognized her name. He did not know she was endorsed by the Republican Party in Loudoun County.

“I don’t know much about the race, to be honest,” said Cruz, who does not have children enrolled in the school system. Whoever wins, he said, he has one major request: “Just don’t ban any books, please.”

Ugh.

Don't ban books. Ha! I hope he learns from this.

is how Democrats got the school board majority to begin with.

What a shame. Hoyler was such a bright spot for LCPS school board. He subbed (and accepted no pay!) was a fantastic communicator and really went above and beyond for our kids. The thought of being stuck with either of the other two puppets is so depressing.

I hope he runs against Corbo for the at large seat.

Both sides give a sample ballot.

He was fantastic. So involved in the schools. Instead, we are stuck with a clearly partisan rep. People shouldn't vote if they don't understand the candidates.
This is awful.

I have some mild distaste for Hoyler, but I am really surprised that he performed so badly in this election. Clearly a case of neither party endorsing him on the sample ballot.

“Mild distaste?” What does that mean?
I think a lot of voters just went down the party line. There is no other reason the D candidate would’ve gotten so many votes otherwise.

Has this race been decided?

Yes. The Republican candidate won.

I assumed otherwise because I didn't get any e-mails from Fight for Schools about it.

He never would answer important questions about LGBTQ issues and I decided not to vote for him when I read he was participating in something with Moms for Liberty. They are an extreme rw group who have made horrible comments about the LGBTQ community. I would not support someone who dodged responding to questions about issues that are important to me.

Isn't Polifko a BCBA? I wonder if their Ethics board is aware that she's running for public office and receiving political endorsements.
