My daughter's current list of schools to apply to are:
Eckerd Bucknell Delaware Valley Purdue Any others to add to the list for her? Not a 4.0 student but a decent GPA. |
|
Ohio Wesleyan University. If she’s a strong student she could get great merit aid there.

| VA Tech |
|
UMD for local option
Pretty much any Big 10 School: Penn State Indiana Wisconsin UIUC |
| West Virginia |
| U of Vermont (UVM) has an excellent environmental science department, and gives good merit aid to OOS students. Not sure about the animal sciences part. |
|
Rutgers. Very good program and also has a farm.
This is basically the stage school of NJ. Very respected. I know someone that did their program and now is at EPA. |
| Pitt for sure - my daughter went there and had many animal internships. |
| I went to UC Davis and took a bunch of animal and environmental science classes, though not enough to major (which I regret). I was in-state though. |
| Minnesota |
Um, all the animal science schools have farms. |
+1 Came on here to say, UC Davis! Also, not sure about the OOS admit rates, but Cal Poly San Luis Obsipo (Cal Poly SLO) for sure. Possibly Cal Poly Pomona although I haven't checked that one out, and SLO is a nicer place to be. One of my regrets is not following a path like this (I didn't know anything when I was a teen, though). One of my minor bummers as a mom is none of my kids are interested in this. |
Same same same - how I wish I could go back in time and major in animal science. Cansius in Buffalo has an interesting animal program: https://www.canisius.edu/academics/programs/undergraduate/animal-behavior-ecology-conservation If your kid is interested in animal sheltering, Arizona State is doing groundbreaking research: https://psychology.asu.edu/research/labs/canine-science-collaboratory Barnard has the Dog Cognition Lab: https://dogcognition.weebly.com/ |
