Anyone watch the documentary about college hazing on PBS?

I think that colleges should show the program about hazing to all Freshmen. It's sickening that kids still go through hazing after all the tragedies.

OMG. It was horrific. How did I not remember these stories?

If colleges actually cared ANYTHING about our kids, they would show it.

Because colleges and local cops do a good job of keeping the details out of the public.

Its not just the frats. All female dorms haze, as well

I was hazed as a female at Virginia Tech. Kids don’t tell their parents.

Marching bands too.
It's tradition for the drum major at Florida A&M to get hazed and caused the death of Robert Champion many years ago.

Also the Cal Aggie marching Band-uh at UC Davis was disbanded by the university a couple years ago due to hazing. I have personal experience with that one.

This is why I refused to allow our students to get involved with the Greek houses at college. They wanted to because they crave the social life. But there is more terrible stuff beyond hazing and young people are vulnerable and lonely.

What’s it called?

Another good one to watch is "Breath Nolan Breath"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTOnrwIQGYY

It's about 35 minutes and mostly talks about the death of Nolan Burch, hazing with alcohol, and medical amnesty.

How can you refuse an adult to make a decision for them.

My DD currently at a state school in GA and in a sorority has NEVER been hazed.

I'm not the pp you quoted, but you can refuse to pay your kid's tuition/expenses.

And you don't know that your daughter has "NEVER" been hazed. She's not going to tell you.

Could your kid afford it without parental support? I think we paid something like 600 a year!
