BULLIS OR WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL?

Which one. DC likes both. Very different I know.

Bullis-more varied student body, more activtiesto be involved in

Where do you live?

I'd have a strong preference for WIS but we live in DC.

Commute has a got to be an issue with one of them. Bullis is in Potomac and WIS is in DC

Which means not only that it's a commute issue, but it's a social issue. We know smart, fun WIS kids locally but don't run into kids from Bullis (e.g. at extracurriculars, as sibs of classmates, as neighbors).

OP here. We live in Montgomery County. Distance would be about the same, but traffic patterns would be a beast going into DC

Socially, it is better if you live in MC to go to a MC school. Much easier for get togethers with other classmates. The commute also becomes not just about the school day but also when you have to go back to school for recitals, plays, meetings, sports etc.

13:28: More varied student body than WIS? That's really hard to believe.

What grade? Is your child already bilingual in Spanish or French?

Perhaps the PP is not talking about geographic diversity, but demographic.

bullis has transportation from DC. Many DC students are in my daughters' classes at Bullis. We have been very happy at Bullis - started in 3rd grade and now in high school.

Well, it depends on what your focus is. If you're an international family and want your child to speak mulitiple languages freely -- choose WIS. If languages aren't your first priority and your kid likes sports -- choose Bullis.

Since you live in MC -- it would be easier for you to choose Bullis w/o a complelling need to come into the city

they are such different schools, they are hard to compare. if they are equally compelling for you, though, i would go with the one that is nearest to home. less time wasted sitting in the car.

Folks, Montgomery County is pretty big geographically. It's entirely possible to live in MoCo and be closer to WIS than to Bullis. We live in Chevy Chase, MD, and it's a very quick trip -- by car, bus or Metro -- to our son's DC independendent school. In fact, he can and has walked home from school. Couldn't do that from Bullis.

What DC private is within walking distance of Chevy Chase?

OP: What grade? High school's an IB curriculum, but it is not immersion.
