Can we raise awareness for the academy system not working? The mask is off (pun intended), we can see the low numbers of players. Really not that hard, and several teams are below the minimum rostering number for the team to be financially viable.

I’ll admit I’m a little surprised. DS team was first in CCL last year, and was expecting this new change would really elevate us. Then we lost to SYC’s B team. So if it wasn’t good for our club’s best team, what’s it been doing for everybody else? Sorry to say, but it’s looking more and more like it’s to mask the small player pool.

Get qualified people. Even LB's team is losing probably cause they have a random parent coaching. My friend's DS also has a random parent that is a coach. Just sad!

"Parent coaches" aren't always worse than pro coaches. I was once in a licensing course with a guy who ran an "Academy." He was a "pro." I was a parent. We were in the same course, and he wasn't any sharper than I was -- less sharp than many of the other parents.

"Pro coaching" is such a racket in this country. Some deserve all the praise they get. Some give a lot of themselves to help underprivileged kids. Some are just pocketing money and going on power trips.

When you pay for a "pro," you're often getting a 22-year-old who played at a junior college who maybe did one or two of the grassroots coaching modules but figured he (almost invariably he) was too awesome to pay attention. This is someone who has no kids and therefore no idea how to relate to kids.

After all, Ken Krieger was a "parent" coach when he coached Ali's teams.

Back to LMVSC -- I know PAC is filling in for one of the CCL age groups in which they're not fielding a team. Any others?

Isn’t TSJ filling in?

COVID might kill some soccer clubs, and that doesn't strike me as a good thing.

Hold up. Registrations are down, but LMVSC has been down ever since previous staff left. You would’ve picked up on that.

Or is this L”J”C speaking? How many missing teams again?

Do you want to know how many teams are missing, or just not in CCL?

You’d think the one person who uses an actual sign-on would be the one person not accused of being someone else, right?

I’ll apologize; seen plenty of posts which glow LMVSC staff.

Thanks.

I honestly don't know who works at LMVSC now. I might have known 4-5 years ago, and I know a parent on one team. I had a vaguely positive impression of some of their parents. That's about it. I know some of the parents of the kids on one of their fill-in teams, but I don't know if that makes me more or less disposed to think well of the club.

jumping in—we just left this season. kinda regret not leaving when so many others did in 2019, but regardless we’re happy with decision. very unhappy this year and fellow parents are more unhappy this season; the ones in it for fun honestly don’t care.
