Russians Compromising Trump

Birtherism was just plain fake. Never any evidence whatsoever.

Yet with Trump and his very questionable connections and dealings there is literally a mountain of evidence, along with every growing independent corroboration and confirmation and admissions of guilt (such as the Flynn resignation) and not only is none of it being debunked, the mountain keeps growing bigger and bigger every day.

This is not at all "birtherism 2.0" - sorry, but your analogy is completely lame.

How could they be fearing Trump's downfall when the whole operation has been so sloppy? It's almost as if his downfall is part of the plan.

I still believe some version of what I started suspecting last summer:

1. Trump's debt to Russia got unwieldy. They told him he could get out of it by undermining Clinton.
2. He agreed to do it, believing it would be easy to either kill her campaign or undermine her presidency and then he'd be free.
3. He does everything he can think of to lose.
4. He knew there would be Russian interference in the election but still thought he'd lose and the hacking business would only harm a President Clinton.
5. Then SURPRISE! He's president, a job he definitely doesn't want. Still in the grips of Putin, with a debt he can never pay off.

Question is, what does Putin want him to do. Better question, how far will our national security let him go. Because for all the speculating we're doing here, there are obviously people who know way more. They may feel it's safer for the country if Trump stays where he is while they isolate the threat.

You are forgetting the 19% stake in Rosneft should Russian sanctions end.

I think Russia is in way over its head. If Russia really has a lot of the U.S. government under its control, and regular Americans regain control, it feels as if this could to ultra-McCarthyism in the United States plus a hot shooting war with Russia. It seems unlikely that Russia would really want a hot shooting war with the United States. If I'm right, maybe some of the "leaking" is just part of Russia trying to back out of this messed up situation. Maybe they were just hoping to blackmail a few officials and ended controlling the whole U.S. government because their tactics worked way better than they'd thought.

This is a big enough scandal--and the world is watching--so there must be action. We knew this was happening before Election Day, yet our system failed to respond. The US now looks weak and inept. Time to clean house and show the world that the US is still the greatest nation on the planet. Wouldn't Trump want that? For the US to be great again?

The articles I am reading have a few things in common...... the sources are unidentified, and if the phone calls actually happened, there is nothing to indicate that anyone on the calls knew they were speaking to Russian intelligence officials (if they were) and there is nothing outlining the content of the phone calls.

So, what exactly do you want to charge people with?
