Some days the discussion goes so sideways it makes me scratch my head. Neither Madison or Langley has accomplished enough this year, so far, that conspiracy theories are needed to explain their success. I know for a fact that one of their rosters has no players from South Lakes, and I would be willing to be the other doesn't either. Both Madison and Langley lose talented players within their boundaries to private schools in every class, and whatever recruiting they do is aimed at convincing players within their own district to stay public, not recruiting players from other school districts. |

What number is your son on the Robinson team? Quit glazin |
Madison has recruited Marshall kids for years. The kids say they are pupil placing for AP but it's mostly to play sports. Used to be for just about all sports although Marshall got better at basketball with Dan Hale and Jerry Lin coaching. |
It’s funny how shortsighted people are. I suppose when the cats away, the mice will play. I went to Chantilly, and I can promise you we never once worried about Mclean. Chantilly is superior to Mclean in every single way as a lacrosse program. Mclean has been better the last couple years, but when put to scale, which lacrosse team is really the insignificant one? Same with Oakton. Can also tell you in my time Westfield was miles better than any Mclean team I can remember. South Lakes wasn’t in the Concorde then, but they deserve respect too. |
Is poaching really a bad thing? If my son was trying to play college lacrosse, would he have a better chance to do it at Madison or South Lakes? At the end of the day, parents gotta do what’s best for their kid. |
Mclean’s biggest accomplishment the last 20 years was losing to Robinson by 1 why are we acting like they’re some powerhouse |
College coaches don't care about public school games. |
Yeah!! McLean drools!! Gonna lose 15-6 on Friday

I don't think many here are focusing on which schools have had the best records over an extended period. The thread is about the 2024 season. It's interesting if Chantilly was once better than McLean at lacrosse, but it's kind of like saying Annandale used to be better at football than Madison. |
For lacrosse? Nope. Like I said, I've never heard of any public school trying to "recruit" from another public school. Kids may want to go to that school and may try to find a way to get there, but it's not because a coach is reaching out to get them. |
Literally last year Madison "recruited" the Robo FOGO, pupil placed because parent worked at Madison. It happens in all FCPS and for all sports. |
That's a lie. No public school coaches ever tried to recruit him. |
Ask Freedom how many kids in South Riding are at PVI. If it's a better opportunity for those players academically, and they can play there kids shoukd consider it.

That brings back great memories. Annandale Atoms at one point a long LONG time ago was a dynasty in football. Huge crowds on Friday night! |
