Westfield, South Lakes, Chantilly, Oakton are insignificant in boys lax. 4 teams matter in Region D. Madison, McLean, Langley and Yorktown. That's it. 2 will go to States and 2 won't by losing in the Regional Semi.
These teams would be more significant if Madison, Robinson, and Langley weren't poaching players from their ranks under the guise of AP or IB programs.
Hmm, this seems like wishful thinking. Westfield, Chantilly and Oakton are all AP schools, as are Madison and Langley, so they couldn't poach from each other under any guise. That leaves South Lakes as the lone IB school. Are you suggesting both Madison and Langley are better at lacrosse because they are both poaching from South Lakes?
Some days the discussion goes so sideways it makes me scratch my head. Neither Madison or Langley has accomplished enough this year, so far, that conspiracy theories are needed to explain their success. I know for a fact that one of their rosters has no players from South Lakes, and I would be willing to be the other doesn't either. Both Madison and Langley lose talented players within their boundaries to private schools in every class, and whatever recruiting they do is aimed at convincing players within their own district to stay public, not recruiting players from other school districts.
Madison has recruited Marshall kids for years. The kids say they are pupil placing for AP but it's mostly to play sports. Used to be for just about all sports although Marshall got better at basketball with Dan Hale and Jerry Lin coaching.
For lacrosse? Nope. Like I said, I've never heard of any public school trying to "recruit" from another public school. Kids may want to go to that school and may try to find a way to get there, but it's not because a coach is reaching out to get them.
