Homelessness vs. Student Loan foregiveness

Why is it a fair use of tax payer money to forgive student loans for people making 100K when there are so many homeless people, people struggling to pay sky rocketing rents? What can be done for those who need help the most?

I think you know the answer to that.
Homeless people generally don't vote. People with master's degrees do - and the research shows they overwhelmingly vote Democrat.
That is your answer.

It's like saying why is it fair to give billions in aid to a wealthy country like Israel when we have problems at home.

To your question, the issue of homelessness is one of the individual cities and states. And the reason it continues to be an issue isn't because of a lack of money poured into it.

Omg, people were freaking out about LA’s proposed solution to homelessness!! You don’t care about homelessness. You just want that money to go to build Trump’s concentration camps for the homeless. I think I might respect you more if you were honest.

It was also a campaign promise!

The binary you are setting up is false, as others have said. I'm not here to defend student loan forgiveness, but individuals and governments tackle the issues they can, when they can, how they can.

Why spend money on mental health issues (that contributes to homelessness), when there are homeless?
Why spend money addressing addiction (that contributes to homelessness) when there are homeless?

Why spend money on prevention/treatment of COVID when we still haven't cured cancer?
Why spend money on climate change when there are people suffering today?

Why spend money on addressing racial violence in policing when other people also are subjected to violence in other circumstances (sound familiar)?

It is an invalid question.

Trump literally sent checks to Americans yet still lost. Buying votes isn’t a thing!

I’m against the student loan forgiveness.

As for the homeless I do not get why states don’t follow Texas and Arizona and just bus them to another state. Does not matter which one, just make them another states problem. That would be fun to watch play out.

You mean California should just bus them to Arizona and Texas?

Any state to any state. Or all the states agree to send them to the same one. It would be such great drama and fun to watch.
Send them all to DC - who cares? It just makes one big problem for one state and the other 49 do not have to deal with it.
