| Which areas have most homeless encampments? |
| Foxhall |
Greater Foggy Bottom around the entry to the Whtiehurst Freeway and then at the circle by GW Hospital. Georgetown, under the Whitehurst Freeway going into Rock Creek Park too. |
Burleith definitely has more. |
| Shaw / Mount Vernon triangle. Right by the apple store there, there is a tent city and open air drug market. It’s almost as if the folks who run this city just do not care. |
| Union station. |
An open-air drug market? In this economy? But seriously, MPD doesnt allow open-air drug markets these days. Get. A. Grip. |
NPS finally addressed that location. |
Still many tents under the under passes off First Street. They have been there for a decade plus though...nothing new. They cleared some under passes in recent years but that just shifted things around. |
| Definitely Foggy Bottom area. Not even a question. |
yes they do. |
| Is there an organization that is helping them in terms of toiletries and winter clothing? Are there any children in those encampments and do they have access to a school, school supplies clothing etc.? |
I have never seen any children. It is majority men, on lots of drugs. |
Huh, that's weird. I thought the collective liberal DCUM hivemind determined that sweeping homeless encampments would solve the issues. Sounds like it was just an exercise in cruelty. |
Every circle has them pretty much, Dupont, Thomas Circle has tons, and areas around DT. The entire city except some deeply residential parts. |
