Pre-pandemic it seemed that it was families and younger folks finishing up their weekends and it wasn't crowd or rude people.
There is now also a certain element of rude and unmannered people who burp and eat in line often overweight, rude and there to just consume as much food possible. What has changed? Maybe it's cheaper to graze for these people? I also noticed some bottomless and buffet brunches are putting in time limits. |
| Americans have gained weight and are less mannered than ever before. The pandemic did a number on people. It could be the same crowd as before, just fatter and more mentally ill from 2 years of isolation |

I'll never forget going a restaurant in Texas that had a breakfast buffet where guests were limited to one trip.
I've never seen people pile so much food on a plate. And then most of them covered the mountain with sausage gravy. |
| It's been my experience that out of towners like Founding Farmers. Maybe it's the name and the style of food (ethnic food isn't as appealing to tourists?), maybe it's the buffet. All of my acquaintances from my hometown seem to go there when visiting DC. One large lunch and then you don't need to eat a big dinner. |
| The food is disgusting. No need to go there for any reason. And the service is 10x worse than the food. |
| That’s where my DH got COVID. |
+1. Like a PP, I thought only tourists went there. Their zero star WashPo review was scathing, and Tom S. is a pretty nice critic. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/founding-farmers-review-where-the-biggest-temptation-is-to-leave/2016/06/01/76b2c844-204e-11e6-9e7f-57890b612299_story.html |
| You went to a Buffett brunch on a Sunday and you’re surprised it’s what it is… |
| The first year it was open it was really really good. Then it went downhill |
You're eating at Founding Farmers and judging people. Really??? 2008 called and wants it's restaurant back.
|
| Ew, OP, buffets are disgusting. |
Lol at “these people” when you’re one of them. |
| I thought Founding Farmers always sucked? |
| I also always thought it was tourists! Through the years visiting friends always ask about it. I assumed it was in a Fodors or other guide book. |
OP thinks "families" (aka couples with young children?) are entitled to monopolize the place. |
