| Lemonade came out in 2016 so this is long overdue. So far it seems really upbeat, but I haven't listened to the whole thing. I hope you all enjoy it! |
| I'll give it a listen today. |
|
I've listened to about half of it and so far this does not hold a candle to Lemonade. I do really like Plastic off the Couch though; that's a jam, love the vibe. As a big Donna Summer fan I do like Summer Renaissance; it's a fun song.
Anyone have thoughts on the Kelis situation? I 100% agree with her. Also, Pharell ain't sh#t for what he did to Kelis. |

Why can't female artists wear clothes on their album covers. Why always practically naked?
One step forward, two steps back. Don't give me that empowered line. Disappointed. |
But what did you think of the album? Thanks for the heads up, OP! |
Plenty of them do; feel free to look at their album covers if that's what you prefer. Why is your only comment about tearing down this woman's aesthetic? We are here to discuss this new body of work, not her clothing choices. You are right; one step forward, two steps back. |

church girl was written for me!!!!!
i’m that girl was for me too!! and virgo groove OMG OMG |
| It's catchy, disco/house vibe. It's obviously not Lemonade but she was never going to replicate Lemonade...artists have to do new things |
| C.R.A.P. |
| There’s definitely a house/dance electronic music revival going on right now. Goes along with all the other 90s revival stuff at the moment. I’m happy about it, we had so many years of mumble rap and bland ballads this trend feels fresh and upbeat now. |
| My husband loves dance/house/electronic music, this will be his jam. Personally it's not my favorite genre although it's a fun vibe |
| Quit your job seems like bad advice |
| It’s a great album. I agree the cover is stupid. |
This woman has a reach that few artists do. I'm not tearing down an individual aesthetic; I'm bemoaning the fact that even one of the most powerful women in the world treads the same old path instead of breaking new ground. And the album covers are part of her body of work. They are part of the message she sends. Duh. She felt compelled to make multiple versions. It would be so refreshing to have the focus on the music and her voice without all the tired old BS. |

1) I’m not really into dance music so it’s not my jam but that doesn’t mean bad
2) The Kelis situation is super fed up and is changing how I see Pharrell completely and somewhat Beyoncé as well 3) The album cover is dumb to be but whatever who cares |
