It’s the new invite only ECRL league

So a rebrand of the exhausting platform?

ECNL is led by stupid people that think they’re galaxy brains.

80% of youth soccer marketing is trying to make it sounds more impressive than it actually is and this requires inventing new leagues every few years.

The ECNL Regional League – Golden State will support deeper player pools and pathways for existing ECNL clubs, creating a 2nd team league for these clubs. This will create an improved competition and development environment for these players aligned with the ECNL competition schedule of their clubs, and will allow ECNL directors to manage player pools effectively from game to game each weekend, rewarding player development and performance in real time. “The creation of a 2nd team league for our ECNL member clubs helps to create a true player development hierarchy within our clubs for promotion to the highest level of national competition in the ECNL,” said Andy Mittler, Mustang Soccer ECNL Director.

ECNL is not going to bloat rosters when college roster spots are shrinking too. The whole point of the sub-leagues isn’t to increase college placement, it’s to increase revenues via non-collegiate pathway athletes. Think of it’s more like ECNL providing a nationwide classic league, opposed to the state and USYS run classic leagues.

The clubs are too myopic to see the issue with that, but at the end of the day it’s ECNL taking a product that many clubs already utilize to pay the bills (classic / NPL / DPL sub leagues) and bringing them inside the ECNL umbrella, and then adding on a premium for the branding. They’re taking wallet share from USYS / State affiliations AND their member clubs.

ECNL already allows up to 30 roster spots. So what the hell are you talking about? 18 can play in games and each ECNL team can have 12 just waiting… that’s what you call a money grab my friends.

Galaxy brains 😂😂 Spot on. The CEO thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room because he misuses big words.

Here is a statement from ECNL, how do you read that and not think this is for coaches to keep lying to families that their kid will be on the top team and the. They say well they aren’t ready for the top team but we have this league which is also great. lol

What will happen when the age change switches to 9/1 is now clubs can keep all the players until families figure out they are no longer a top team player.

That’s all this is. How can we trick more people into thinking their kids are special and going to college.

Tomorrow at 10am our club will publish a big announcement.

Currently playing USCS NPL and USYS Elite 64.

Moving to ECNL or MLS Next?

The answer, tomorrow at 10am.

So the stall to implement SY was so the leagues can create 2nd and 3rd and 4th tier leagues and eat up the non college players in 25/26 THEN switch all or some of them to SY 26/27? It wasn’t about the computer platforms…

That’s a fact!!
You can’t tell me it’s because of computer platforms. I am sure it still could be done if it already hasn’t been.

It's funny how passionate some people are about changing the cutoff date from Jan 1 to Sept 1 or Aug 1. Yes it allows some (but not all) players to be on teams with their classmates. It does nothing for RAE. You're just advantaging/disadvantaging different groups of players depending on when they were born.

If you're not going to completely address all the trapped players with something like SY+60 the juice doesn't seem worth the squeeze.

The most interested are the trapped players currently. I don't know if it's "passionate," but more just curious (i.e., shit or get off the pot - you brought this up now actually do/say something about it!)
