In reading more about the importance of weight/resistance training I'd love to know if you've found an online program or videos to help a beginner start that you'd recommend?
I don't feel like I fit in at a traditional gym but want to start adding this to my routine. Or, are there places that have individual classes like this that I could try? Thanks for any recs! |
I have two recommendations:
I really like the Muscle & Strength website. There are programs that you can follow. What I like most is that there are quick videos for each move. Here’s an example of one workout for women. Scroll down to the actual workout schedule. You’ll see that each move is a link. (I skip past all the nutrition stuff) I also really like “The New Rules of Lifting for Women” book. There are very clear photos and descriptions. I’ve done the program many times. It lasts about 6 months. Good luck! |

Lots of places have weight training classes. That's a good way to start. |
