| Did it pass on to your children? What are the odds of children of parents with ADHD also having it? |
| Yes. |
| Yes. 2 of the 3 have it. |
| I have ADHD. My only daughter does not. As a one year old toddler her attention span could outlast me. I’m grateful every day she dodged that bullet. |
Wtf, she is only 1! She I don’t think any sane doctor would classify and infant as having adhd… |
| I have it and both my kids do too. However there is plenty of ADHD on DH’s side as well. |
| I think my dd does but I NEVER would have known if I hadn’t recently gotten diagnosed myself. Ds is tbd. He’s hyper but seems within the realm of normal to me. |
| I think we are 2 for 2. One kid has an official diagnosis and the other we have agreement between her teacher and parents that she checks all the boxes. We haven’t had her evaluated yet because we know we won’t medicate (yet) and the supports are already in place. |
| DH has it as do both our kids. To the parent of young kid that can out-focus, don’t be so sure that isn’t ADHD. Sometimes ADHD is more inappropriate focus than lack of. One of my ADHD kids does a lot of hyper focusing. |
Try rereading |
| DH has ADHD; I don't. 1 of our 4 kids (all grown) has ADHD. |
| I believe the stats I was given at Johns Hopkins/Kennedy Krieger was almost 50%. We have 4 kids, 2/4 so far. |
| DH likely has ADHD based on behavior and diagnosed cases in his family. DC1 was diagnosed with ADHD in 1st grade. DC 2 does not seem to have any symptoms. I don't have it, but my mom self diagnosed herself after doing lots of reading about it when DC1 was doagnosed. I'm not entirely convinced her self diagnosis is correct, but it's also not outside thr realm of possibilty. |
Why would you even go out with someone with ADHD let alone marry him? |
At what age did the diagnosis become obvious? What was the telltale sign? |
