Many, many. I didn't realize that you were replying for the team otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. I just try to jump in when others aren't available to point out Aug grade guy's constant errors and misleading posts.

Directly from MTAs website

https://mnthunderacademy.org/age-group-change-2026-2027-season/

All youth soccer Clubs, including MTA will be transitioning from calendar-year (birth year) age grouping to grade-level age grouping, starting in the 26-27 season. This means players will now be primarily placed on teams based on their grade level in school.

The FINE PRINT ...

We believe aligning players with their correct grade is an important factor to consider at tryouts. At MTA, we are taking the extra step of providing the opportunity to submit a Grade Alignment Application to Aug/Sept born players who do not align with their grade. This will allow them to play and try out with their correct grade.

Please review your player’s alignment carefully on the new age group grids below. If your child is already in the “correct” grade for their age group, no action is needed. If your player is a ‘trapped player’ (typically July birthdays), unfortunately this is out of our control as players cannot legally “play down”. However, if your player is now on a team of the grade below them (typically August birthdays), please read the information below carefully.

Consider filling out this optional application if BOTH of these apply:

Your player has a August or September birthdate
Your player’s grade does not align with their birthyear group (e.g. early school start)
If your application is accepted, you will be evaluated only in that age group and will not be placed or considered for a team at the lower age group.

Note that this Grade Alignment Application is not a “play up” request based on skill, but a formal request to place a player on a team that matches their academic grade level.
So not forced into grade year and letting lower level teams go grade.

Well ... This club does lay out they think playing on your grade is better for recruiting. ... So, they basically don't care about late developers other than fend for yourselves OR learn to like the B OR C team.
I'm sticking with ECNL dude saying playing on age is better for recruiting except for getting a shot at multiple showcases and college coaches saying they don't care what age group you are in as long as you are eligible to matriculate.

US Soccer literally stated that having misaligned players playing up in BY was a huge issue for college recruiting. Its one of the major reasons for changing to SY. Playing on a grade down team and being misaligned is presumably even worse for college recruiting.
Still sticking with ECNL dude saying playing on age is better for recruiting except for getting a shot at multiple showcases and college coaches saying they don't care what age group you are in as long as you are eligible to matriculate.

Yep, because you get the age advantage in your favor instead of against you.
In SY, in the long run Aug birthdays playing on grade down teams screw themselves when it comes time for college recruiting.
Just can't choose to play up in DMV. So can't shaft yourself around here

We will soon see when rosters are released.

GA doesn’t release their rosters publicly. ECNLs are often left blank.

ECNL rosters are on the website and in the app!

The grad year is often left blank and I’ve heard incorrect at times.

But why would you do that? It makes no sense. Graduating year isnt some super secret spy intel.

Your delusion is out of control.
So many aren't looking to play in college because the college option are often not the greatest place to live or learn or they are far away and expensive.

Now you're arguing that players DONT want to play in college?

The delusion is thick with age guy.
Out of RL and boys, a bunch aren't going to sacrice college for soccer.

Everyone wants to play at the next level if they can. It's how sports work.

You are ridiculous.
Not even remotely true. Life can have phases. By late HS, jobs, dates, trying to get into good schools, and driving become a thing for many. You not realizing that people grow up and have changed priorities is astounding.

Looked at my kid's team and 17/18 have it and it's correct for all those who did submit.
The years they picked on my kid's team were comical. Apparently some listed the year started senior year, some listed college and some masters and some seems to be based off of being foreign and having differing graduation years. Yes, ECNL.

The reality you’re missing is college recruiting isn’t really done through the ecnl websites. If anything, they’ll become non public, too.

It's often wrong because it's generally parent submitted, but it's on for most players in our league/ag

Looked at my kid's team and 17/18 have it and it's correct for all those who did submit.
The years they picked on my kid's team were comical. Apparently some listed the year started senior year, some listed college and some masters and some seems to be based off of being foreign and having differing graduation years. Yes, ECNL.

I'm 17/18 you're responding to and yes there are several teams in our conference like that. It's just an admin/data collection problem though and I bet it's much more accurate next year

I'm 17/18 and you are 100% wrong. Everyone has their info uploaded to their profile. It's weird that people arent saying that having correct info isn't the norm.

We know, age guy is looney tunes + trying to convince people that what's documented and right in front of their eyes isnt real.

Eventually he's going to need to accept reality.

The reality you’re missing is college recruiting isn’t really done through the ecnl websites. If anything, they’ll become non public, too.

Hahahaha you have no clue.

Players want their graduating year public so college coaches know when they can expect potential recruits on campus.

You are looney tunes.

https://mnthunderacademy.org/age-group-change-2026-2027-season/

It’s basic privacy for minors. Nothing more than that. Some kids put themselves out there on social media. Others are more private. Leagues try to respect both.

It being voluntary is respecting them. As I said, it wouldn’t surprise me if ecnl makes the profiles less public and only available to coaches and scouts. If you think that’s ridiculous, I can’t help you.

ECNL is going to allow U18 juniors to play in U17 showcases. U18 seniors who are grade ahead of age but age eligible for U17 will be allowed as well but recommended to play U19 with seniors as often as possible.

College freshman as well as high school seniors who meet U19 age requirements will be allowed to play all year long. So no reason to be held back as you can still play in college.

Teams have to have space for them to play. So if you’re u17 team already has 20 players, how do they tell those girls that more will be playing with you at a showcase?

That’s between the clubs and the parents. My daughter’s ECNL team has 30 on the roster and only brought 20 to the showcase. The others either do not play or goto RL showcases.

Not the poster.

Also by junior year spring season top players have committed so no need to bring them to a showcase.

No such thing as a “top” player going to play college.

Top playrers are the ones that get picked early/first by college coaches.

So now you're complaining about the matrixes clubs post on their sites? Cats already out of the bag. More and more clubs will provide matrixes that include grade in school because it makes sense, its easier for parents, and the math is correct.

Unfortunately the DCUM admin doesnt want to get into the details + just wants to move on.

BTW I checked a few top ECNL teams on their website and even now most players have the same graduating year. This fall its almost guaranteed that teams will all be one grade with Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team.

Your delusion is getting harder and harder to maintain.

The cat is out of the bag. It’s case by case and all you do is cherry pick and ignore all the ecnl communication in writing and on video that contradicts you.
