Son still peeing in the bed

Anonymous
Does anyone have any suggestions as my 7 year is peeing in the bed. It’s not every night. We did the alarm and it worked for a while but now he is back to peeing in the bed. We limit when to stop drinking liquids and make him go to the restroom before going to bed. But not sure what else to do.

Thank you.

I have two sons that had issues with this. We make them use pull ups and call them night time underwear. I know another family and the son had issues with this well into high school.

This is going to sound dumb but here’s the advice that I got that worked when nothing else did. My friend who was a bedwetter told us to talk to our son about how he felt when he had to go to the bathroom and whether he had any thoughts or dreams when he wet. My friend also suggested that we tell him that water dreams mean he has to go. And that we needed to tell him that when he had those feelings or dreams, no matter how hard it was he had to get up and go. In other words, figure out the first and instruct him as to what he has to do.

I’d try the alarm again a nd make sure you spring for the one with more than one alarm sound option. We had great luck with the alarm, then a set back and the alarm helped again

Out the night time pull ups back on. This is normal for a 7yo. It will stop eventually, just not yet.

Either re-do the alarm or just let it be.

My 7 year old still wets the bed. We wake her up around 11:00 pm to use the bathroom. Then she is dry until morning. If we don't wake her, she pees. She refuses to wear diapers.

I don't consider it a problem. Both of my sisters were still wetting well past this age.

Nobody talks about this, but it so common. Don't worry, eventually he will outgrow.

I agree with other posters. My son is almost 7 and still wears a diaper to bed. We were told just to wait it out and that its perfectly normal to still wet the bed at 7. I would stick with diapers until he starts waking up dry consistently. Until then, I wouldnt worry about it.

How often does she wet the bed? Its pretty much every night here. There is no way I could change sheets in the middle of the night and then again in the morning so thats why we put him in a diaper at night. Not to mention that my almost 7 year old sons mattress already had to be replaced and the current one isnt far from being replaced. Mattresses are not cheap.
