Snow day

Why can't fcps declare a 2hr delay for now and pivot to "closed" later if needed?

Is that you Reid?

Do you have any other responses in your repertoire? It’s getting old and not especially clever.

Check the vdot plow map. https://plows.vdot.virginia.gov/public/map Most of McLean neighborhoods aren’t complete. Chantilly area hasn’t even started yet. Reston looks mostly done.

I've been trying to read this map for a while ... what is the blue line noting? Thanks!

They will most likely but people get fussy if they close when it isn’t actively snowing so they’re going to be judicious. This one won’t get called til 6-7 probably.

You mean send out one specific message and then CHANGE it??? Sure. Because there’s nothing that could go wrong with that communications approach.

wow it mush be so nice living life from you high horse of privilege.

Different poster but yes, it is truly incredible to sleep until 10 on a snow day as a DINK family. To watch a movie, get in a great workout, a trip to the grocery store, and to make a gourmet meal with my husband, and then to still have a few hours to get in a few chapters in my book. I come here often to listen to you whine. It provides me with endless birth control as I wonder if you regret your life decisions. How hard it must be to stay home with your children and cherish the little time you have together before they are adults. Your job must be so important!

To all the parents posting urging a safety-first approach, thank you for your sanity and for also providing me hope in humanity.

I mean, the cautious thing to do is to plan for the closing. The delay is a certainty.

Ours in Springfield shows “complete”. Could have fooled me.

Also in Springfield and we are still unplowed - VDOT map just says 'assigned'.

You won't be so smug in around 10 years.

Good for him! Nice to know we still have people in the community helping others.

He was a pretty cool guy, voted for him and would again if he runs for Congress. Class of 15, I remember when he came to our graduation he got a standing O. Back then FCPS blocked on Twitter for some reason, don't use Twitter anymore but wonder if I am still blocked. My 6 year old wants to go back to school, she misses her friends.
