Volleyball club- recap and thoughts

I agree that seems really high. Their website does show they are planning for their top teams to attend a lot of multiday tournaments including 4 national qualifiers and they are showing 3 days per week of practice plus a weekly strength and conditioning session. That's a pretty aggressive schedule that drives up their expenses for them, but that also seems like a lot of training and tournaments requiring travel for a club that historically hasn't qualified for USAV nationals or had a lot of players go on to play in college. I think this is a good example of trying to find a club that matches what you're hoping to get out of club volleyball. If DD is not likely to play in college but plays club for the experiences/friendships/fitness/something for college application/whatever, is it worth spending over $7k plus all those travel expenses?

An even larger number trained at other clubs at U15 and earlier. You don't see the clubs that they were with taking credit for that, but you certainly see those tier 1 clubs constantly marketing it.

While players should always be able to play wherever they want, those interested in playing in college should have better info than they do today.

I think it goes both ways though. I've seen clubs being petty to players that move to other clubs. Some clubs seem to expect players to be loyal to them, but then see no issue not offering a spot to a player who has been with the club for multiple seasons.

My daughter played for them and we were generally happy. She’s trying out at several teams this upcoming year, including NVVA. We asked a couple people why they aren’t a part of the Chesapeake region like the other clubs and never get an answer. They show up on last years SportsEngine rankings, not the USAV national rankings.

It's too late. These poor players and families had Roberta last season. She is wonderful. A woman of faith and family, such a great lady! Now they have Chris. Hopefully ECP will see how incapable he is and fire him before many more girls suffer.

Heard from a CHRVA coach that NVVA was "kicked out" of CHRVA, as opposed to electing out. Anyone have any knowledge or idea what she meant or why?

NVVA isn't in CHRVA. They do AAU/JVA only. They revamped their club system this year, all last year's teams are now labelled as NVVA XP teams - in line wit their "rebrand."

What has happened to NVVA to cause the decline over the years? They used to be a top club around the DMV area with competitive players.
