Is Loudoun Elite any good? I see it's $7502 for this season. That seems very high.
Wow, that’s way too much. My daughter wanted to try out for them but it’s too high. I just checked their site and you are right.
I agree that seems really high. Their website does show they are planning for their top teams to attend a lot of multiday tournaments including 4 national qualifiers and they are showing 3 days per week of practice plus a weekly strength and conditioning session. That's a pretty aggressive schedule that drives up their expenses for them, but that also seems like a lot of training and tournaments requiring travel for a club that historically hasn't qualified for USAV nationals or had a lot of players go on to play in college. I think this is a good example of trying to find a club that matches what you're hoping to get out of club volleyball. If DD is not likely to play in college but plays club for the experiences/friendships/fitness/something for college application/whatever, is it worth spending over $7k plus all those travel expenses? Something interesting that I noticed poking around their website is that on their College Commitments page (https://www.loudounelitevb.com/collegecommitments) they include players who ever played a single season for them that went on to play in college. They are transparent about what age(s) they played for the club. I don't think it's inappropriate - they played a part in these players' path to play in college. Just not something I have seen others clubs do in that way.
More clubs should do this but I think the floor should be U14.
For setters and liberos, (starting) 12u is important.
