I don't know but great question.

My 11 year old hates (with a passion) girls shorts. She goes to the boys section and buys cargo shorts which have pockets (old navy or gap, and she typically has to buy a size down). It's either those shorts or capris. The only time she wears girls shorts are with running/sports.

She otherwise dresses rather stereotypically feminine - when weather is good, dresses and skirts, even to school.

Some will show up in both boys and girls, yes. Especially the school gym shorts stuff.

Thanks for this. My daughter also hates the short, shorts look. She prefers midi or Bermuda shorts. It’s hard to find something stylish that’s not an athletic short or doesn’t look like a school uniform short.
