Three mothers sat on the park bench talking while their six year old boys pulled up flowers (roots and all) in the park flower bed and stuck them in the sandbox. I yelled to the boys to stop and their mothers just looked at me.
Jerks. |

They must be the moms who didn’t even blink while their boys threw rocks at ducks the other day. I though about saying something but the moms looked so proud of their boys so it would have been a lost cause. Plus the moms all had matching yeti wine tumblers with vinyl monogram stickers, which I took as a warning to not engage.
People are animals. That’s all you need to know. |

What's wrong with putting flowers in the sandbox?
And why yell at other people's kids? Too coward to approach the moms - in a diplomatic manner if course - and get context (maybe it's permissible in their culture, maybe there's an SN issue) or let them know? |
Pulling up park flowers by the roots and putting them in the sandbox doesn’t seem wrong to you? I bet adults yell at your brats all the time. Try being a better parent. |
Because landscapers were paid to plant those flowers and someone else designed them for natural beauty not to die in a sandbox. WTF is wrong with you? |
| So many park mothers are jerks. I’ve had to correct bratty kids more times than I can count as a nanny of 15 years. Hideous, cruel, pig behavior and the mothers just sit there. I had one mother and her son escorted out of an indoor playground once for throwing balls at my toddler charge. The kid was about six and the mother just stood there. I told the kid to stop and the mother got huffy so I told the manager and they escorted them out. |
WTF is wrong with you?! Jesus, you’re saying it’s okay to pull up flowers and destroy gardens?! Why should OO ever talk to someone like you or those three mothers? Yelling at their kids has a chance of getting them to stop. |
One could argue the kids are being creative and using their imagination. Dogs pee on flower beds and thus "destroy " them . Get angry with them too. |
| It was me. My son likes to play. Flowers shcwowers. Go hug a tree. |
You really think it’s the same thing? The kids are brats and the mothers are lazy and worthless. |
Stop trolling. You’re just embarrassing yourself. |
.+1. It’s why I always sternly correct the child and never deal with the lazy parents. |
Dogs aren’t allowed in the sandbox or flowers. Neither is your insufferable child. If you want your child to use their imagination plant your own flowers and let them throw them all over your house. |
It wasnt literal silly. I am the parent who lets her kids play snd be a kid. Im not telling you how to parent your kid. More parents should mind their business unless it is directly harming you and yours. What was your kid doing during while tending to others kids? |
Getting dirt in their eyes from the kid waving flower roots around in the air in the sandbox. |
