I saw a reference to the decision being made in another thread. What is the result? |
It looks like the school board was supposed to approve the new bell schedule at the May 12 meeting. But the schedule that’s online looks like the old schedule. |
Yes, schedule is in board docs from 5/12 |
Yes! I think the only surprise (to me) was ATS now starts early. I didn't realize they were slated to change times.
Claremont is back to an early start time and I am so grateful. I Do think my kids will be sad about waking up earlier but the evenings have been so rushed. We basically get home and run out the door. I Think my kids are really struggling this year with that. It will be nice for them to have more downtime before they have to head to sports. |
ATS was supposed to start at 9 but they petitioned to change it |
Of course they did. I don't disagree with them wanting an earlier time but this is so entitled. |
The times are in here- most schools aren't changing drastically but the 8:25 elementary schools either shifted to 7:50 or 9.

Why didn't we align all elem to the early 7:50 start time? |
All ATS wanted was the start/end slot that Key petitioned away from. |
FOR EVERYTHING: ATS was supposed to “X” but they positioned to change. Waste of resources, entitled parents. If it works, systemize it, if not get rid of it. |
Parent preference was split 50/50 but the teachers overwhelmingly advocated for the earlier start time… so the PTA went with that. |
Busses? |
Because a large scale change of start/end times was very unpopular. |
The teachers were the driving force behind the change. But I doubt you ever pass up an opportunity to call other parents entitled. |
They also added around 10 minutes to everyone’s school day. Look at the ending times. |
