| Really good friend, who met her DH, got married at 40, and then has been TTC for the last 5+ years. Tried IVF and got a single embryo, but the transfer didn't work. They've miscarried so many times and its just been such a rough journey. Uterine fibroids, polyps (removed) and on and on. Around her 45th birthday, they decided to look for other ways to add to their family and now, she's pregnant, the old fashioned way! Just hit 23 weeks and all is going smoothly and I'm just over the moon for them. She'll be 46 when the baby is born. Thought I'd share here, in case its helpful for anyone! |
| Yay so happy for your friend! Wishing them the best! |
|
| Congratulations and thank you for sharing. Happy Mother's Day! |
| Eh I don't believe they are being honest with you. Not that it matters, but that's more likely a donor egg than a natural pregnancy and they just don't want to tell anyone. |
That’s probably true, but it still seems like a harsh response. Congratulations to your friend! Wishing her an uncomplicated pregnancy, an easy birth and a healthy baby. |
This is such great news! Congratulations to your friend. This baby will be deeply loved! |
+1. My grandmother had her last baby at 46, but she’d had a few kids by then. First baby naturally at 46? Possible but not probable. |
| My former coworker just had her second at age 50. Healthy baby girl. It’s not for everyone but these children are obviously very wanted and loved! |
It's all genetics, so who knows. A friend got married at 40 and proceeded to have three children between then and age 45. Fertile genes! |
This, but who cares. Congrats to her anyway. |
| I had a natural pregnancy and birth at 45. Healthy baby too. It happens!!! Congrats to your friend. |
Your first? |
| I’m happy for your friend. Mine lost another IVF attempt and I’m so sad for her. I hope she has another chance somehow. |
Right, but then her baby at 45 wasn't her first. I'm happy for OP's friend but remain doubtful it was done without intervention. I say this as someone who had both her kids in her 40s. |
