| Just under contract. How long before I see a 60k appreciation? |
| Why did you put in an offer? |
It's a mindset: if you're sure you hate it, you'll hate it, probably forever. Find ways to at least like it; presumably you liked it enough to put an offer in. Find that ember and fan it. |
| Too damn bad. |
| Haha, nice one. You mean depreciation, right? |
| Why? |
| Give yourself some time to decompress. It’s a grueling process, it doesn’t exactly put you in a great frame of mind. Assuming you’re not in a position to back out, try to just stay cool and see where you are in a few months. You bid on that house for a reason, and you’ll probably remember why someday. |
Because they were told to buy now or be priced out forever. The realtor slogan. |
Nope. Just need a place to live. Only redeeming valley is it is a shelter. Just need to make 60k. |
| Only 60k? |
| Why 60k. Have you even moved in yet? Why do you hate it |
? If you went in with the expectation that all you wanted was shelter, surely you can't be disappointed, silly! And unless you're buying a single room, 60K seems to be a typo. Deutsche Bank predicted a major recession in 2023, and other financial institutions whose job it is to predict the future said there would be a much milder event. Whatever it is, with rising interest rates and out-of-control inflation, I don't think you'll see a 2022 real estate purchase in the DC area appreciate as fast as you want. |
| We’d need to know more about the house and location to estimate how much it will appreciate. |
60k sounds like amount to recoup buying and selling costs, do the math, I'm too lazy to look it up ... |
That’s what I took it to mean too. |
