I reported a Sunday school teacher molesting me. I got in trouble for it. I reported my kids being taught about sex in a church preschool and was forced out of the church. Read what happened to this young lady who reported rape at a Christian college: https://apple.news/ADH73UOlYT4mPzu5s6I9_7A WWJD? Certainly none of the above responses. If you deny it, that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, btw. It just makes you complicit in the offense. |
| Your statement is bot over and under inclusive. |
How did Floris force you out? I can’t really imagine wanting to continue to attend after the Pastor fluffed off your concerns. |
Where did OP say anything about Floris? |
She has another thread about this. |
| OP, it sounds like you need to leave the faith, or at least your church, if you haven’t already. |
| Too many churches have had sex abuse scandals, particularly involving children. |
| So are you saying all Christians allow sexual assault or only Christians allow sexual assault? |
| For every Christian school or church that makes the news for doing the wrong thing, there are 100 - 1000 more that do the right thing. |
False |
Sez you? |
+100. Bigoted pp/troll is gonna need to give a cite for that one. |
Chances are, no one knows, because such crimes are likely to be under-reported. And it's not a matter of being bigoted. OP is reporting her own experience. Christians certainly do allow sexual assault, as shown by the proven sex scandals in the Catholic Church. Of course, religion need not be a factor in a sex crime. It just often is. |
+1 except, I disagree with the bolded. How do you define "often"? "Often" it's a family member committing the assault, not a member of a religious organization. Every organization tries to hide its faults. Public schools have done this, too, as has law enforcement. |
Doubt opsdr up that bogus statistic. It was you, wasn’t it? Cite, please. |
