And it's not a matter of being bigoted. OP is reporting her own experience. Christians certainly do allow sexual assault, as shown by the proven sex scandals in the Catholic Church. "Often" it's a family member committing the assault, not a member of a religious organization. Every organization tries to hide its faults. Public schools have done this, too, as has law enforcement.
