No, it's not necessary. I know they're doing it (and have done similar things in the past). You're argueing to argue.

1st GA wasnt around when we did SY pre 2017

2nd You are lieing and making things up

Sorry I am not. People in the league are telling clubs/coaches what the rules WILL BE next year, who are telling parents. This is because they're deciding what clubs to be on (or to leave for other leagues). That's happening right now.

Keep your head in the sand if you want.

Your made up nonsense doesnt add up.

Theres almost no schools with a cutoff before 8/1. So the number of "trapped" players would be low.

May-July are now the youngest players under SY again theres no benefit to letting these players play down.

You are lieing and making things up.

Parents hold back a ton of summer birthdays for a variety of educational reasons and can legally do so. They exist are are the new trap players. Sorry you are so misinformed.

And there it is.

Again trying to find ways to play older average against younger ones.

You are to ridiculous.
Not true. Holding a kid back in school doesn't affect their age group. It isn't some special way to play down an age group.

In the 2026–2027 school year, children born after August 1, 2010, will generally be entering 10th grade (Sophomore year) or 11th grade (Junior year), depending on their specific birth month and your local district's cutoff date.

Still 100% correct.

Are you referring to standing up to age guy whos trying daily to find new ways to play older kids against younger ones?

No, I'm referring to the 2 constantly fighting about age matrixes and the poster trying bully people with anything they disagree with.

Bully how? With a matrix that is exactly the same as the one US soccer released?
You need exactly lessons. US Soccer's age groups don't recognize grades.

I think the one used by US soccer appears like 1 in 10 or 1 in 15 of the matrixes shared. That's just cat fighting. The bullying is be derisive to other posters, trying to mock them and being generally mean.

Over and over its always the same thing.

Age guy is always trying to find ways to play older playera against younger ones.
The only way to play older players against younger players is to force kids to play up. Because playing down isn't allowed.

Explain the difference between letting a 9th grade July 2011 play U15 next year and an August 2011 being forced to play U16 because they are 10th graders.

It’s literally the same exact thing but doesn’t benefit your kid so you hate the idea of it.

The fact you’re blind to your own self greed shows a lot about who you’re as a person. Also just to clarify my kids bday December and I no I don’t want to hold my kid back but you can’t handle anything that doesn’t work for you and your own situation without glitching out.

Math doesn't bully.

It does make it easy to identify who is lieing and wrong with a play down agenda.

Hmmm ... What does it say about trapped players? Let's see ...

6. Trapped Player Expectations
a. U19 Age Group
i. A Girls Academy player that is in 11th grade, but
who is age appropriate for the U19 age group is
defined as a Trapped Player.
ii. A maximum of three U19 Trapped Players are
eligible to participate in games at U17 GA National
Events.
1. Note: A U19 Trapped Player is not eligible
to compete in Champions Cup and the GA
Summer Playoffs.
b. U15 Age Group
i. A Girls Academy Player that is in the 8th grade, but
who is age appropriate for the U15 age group is
defined as a Trapped Player.
ii. A U15 Trapped Player is eligible to participate in
games at one (1) U14 GA Regional Event while her
teammates compete in high school. There will be a
maximum of 3 trapped players per event.

Oh, I guess they do allow 8th graders to play with other 8th graders even if the above age group!

ECNL has the same rule as GA on this.. hopefully Aug player hater doesn’t see this that means you’re not even safe after this kid goes to college….

If a player attends college but does not play college soccer, they are eligible to play GA conference league games and events if they fall into the birth year age
group for U19.
b. If a player has graduated high school, but is not entering college yet, i.e. taking a GAP year, they are eligible to play GA conference league games and events if they fall into the birth year age group for U19.

Older players can't play down on age but anybody can play down on grade because grade doesn't exist in club. Find a rule that says I'm wrong. You can't.
