I'm 14:46. Note that I didn't say anyone "claims" Cobbs said that (which would imply I didn't believe them).
I'm just not comfortable repeating as fact something asserted by one poster on an anonymous message board. (It may well have been witnessed by four dozen parents, but as far as I can tell, only one has spoken up here. But I freely admit I can't keep track of who is who and how many are participating in this conversation.) |
| Still not buying that she said that... |
|
More of her own?
If that means black children, I think that is under control. It could also mean more upper-middle class black people (which I would imagine would be closer in SES to an administrator making a six figure salary than the current black population) Maybe it simply means more of the middle/upper-middle-class Maybe she never said the words "more of my own" consecutively. Maybe she did. But someone somewhere decided to assume it was a white/black war and make it about RACE. |
| Does anyone know when L-T will be having open houses this fall? Or when they typically announce them? I can't find any info. |
| How about picking up a phone and calling the school? |
Maybe it was about people with brown eyes Maybe it was about people from Georgia Maybe it was about elementary school principals Maybe it was about being a member of a Pentacostal church We could play this game for hours. DISCLAIMER: I have no idea whether she has brown eyes, is from Georgia or Happens to handle snakes or speak in tongues. |
| Say whatever you like about Cobbs as a person, she is unable to attract and more importantly keep neighborhood kids at LT. Whatever the reason, this is a critical failure of leadership. When coupled with unsubstantiated suspicions about cheating and attendance by Ward 9 residents, a change is stongly indicated, no matter what the academic metrics might show, particularly given that it eventually impacts enrollment at SH. |
I guess this is how Ludlow manages to stay "the best kept secret on the Hill." |
| It's like fight club then? |
|
| Open house today was great. Place is awesome. We were shown around pretty much for as long as we wanted. On the way to be the best school on the Hill. Let's keep it a secret for as long as possible... |
| Would you care to tell us the reasons you believe LT will be the "best" school on the Hill, whatever that means? What exactly was so great about the open house? Please share. |
| We can't tell -- it would reveal the secret. |
|
The worst kept secret is PreS, PreK, maybe K, out. Been there, done that, you will, too.
|
| After K the kids get blacker and blacker. Run run as fast as you can! |
