He could have been sick for a few days already.

Also, if an obese 74 year old man who is the leader of a country has covid, why wouldn’t you want him in a hospital?? I’m surprised he isn’t there already tbh.

Well, he started showing symptoms Wednesday at the earliest, which is still a very quick progression, and you actually don't want someone with mild symptoms in a hospital because they don't need that amount of care and their risk of getting a secondary infection is higher in the hospital. Also, in terms of optics, I am sure Trump would not want to go to the hospital unless it was medically necessary.

didn't they put Boris Johnson in pretty early?

That was much earlier on, treatment protocols were different and maybe they figured they didn’t want to take any chances. I doubt they’d take Trump to the hospital unless it was really a severe situation.

One of the responses was "Same here is NW. Presidential helicopters (3 big ones flying low) all day. Back and forth. Back and forth. At one point they circled low over our house for 25 minutes."

A little surprised more people haven't mentioned this actually. If it's all 3 presidential helicopters, they're transporting POTUS.

Wouldn’t WH press know if the helicopters landed at the WH though?

If you really do have a mild case, there is nothing to check that the White House doctor can't do. If he is having trouble breathing, then that's not mild and then a hospital visit is in order.

They could drive him without him being seen. If they airlifted, news cameras would get footage of him being loaded onto Marine One. I'm sure they'd drive.

Of course you can. The President doesn't ever have to leave the White House to do his job. But he does have to stay healthy.
