Fun fact: the actress who plays Dr. Mohan wants to go to med school!

Agree, they have made her pretty lame these past few episodes. Hope she gets a better farewell than this.

I have to admit that Mohan has almost been a non-entity to me. I solely remember her for the diabetic guy story arc (where she was great!). I’m surprised she’s a resident and higher up than Santos and Whitaker.

I realize that IRL leaving your ED residency is probably considered a failure, but for this character it’s an opportunity to move towards something she will excel at.

She’s not given as much attention overall. Santos and Whitaker get more screen time and dialogue.

Mohan out, Ellis promoted to series regular

Bummer about Mohan, but I like Ellis a lot.

This is how I feel. I do hope Mohan gets a positive ending, though. Right now it feels like the message she's getting is that she's not cut out to be a doctor at all, like when she trashed her ultrasound fellowship application after talking to the night shift senior resident (Sean from Shrinking! Was he on last season? I don't remember) and feeling like she couldn't compete.

Mohan is a great doctor. In fact she might be the doctor on the show I'd most want as my regular physician. But I do think the pace of the ED isn't right for her. She wants to get to know her patients better, be able to treat them over time, and do more than triage the most critical injuries before passing them off. She's just in the wrong speciality, that's all.

Agree, I hope they find a way to write her out on a positive note. That said I do really like Ellis and will look forward to seeing her more next season.

That’s too bad. I am way more attached to Dr. Mohan than Dr. Ellis. From what I’ve seen, Dr. Ellis is too brash for me. This stinks.

eh, It's important for the story arc to show that some doctors are just not cut out for ED/trauma work. That's what they had Whitaker give Ogilvy the big talk about loving what he does.

Agreed. Mohan is wonderful! They pushed geriatrics this season, but she'd also be a great family doctor.

They have said S3 will have a much shorter time jump (guessing it will be Robby returning from his sabbatical) so I wonder how they will write that in since she'll be departing mid academic year.

my long shot theory is that S3 could be Jabari’s 21st birthday. they mentioned early this season that her bday was coming up and Princess and Perla were planning a party. It would be fun to start mid-day shift on that day and then have day shift docs go out to the party and spend more time with night shift docs. Obviously then something happens to bring day shift back in…

How did I not know that the actress playing Mel is Bryan Cranston’s daughter?!

I haven't even tried to watch because of the gore.

I am also doing an ER rewatch and saw Katherine LaNasa on an episode. Season 9, episode 4 if you are interested.

McKay is also Brad Dourif's daughter (Wormtounge from Lord of the Rings).

Santos her father is a big Broadway star and they did Hadestown together too (she was Eurydice and he played Hermes).

Lots of family actors on this show.

No no no. Shawn Hatosy all day.

You want a man around who knows how all the systems work and is not preoccupied by gazing at his own navel.

Here you go:

He’s on Broadway for the first time, and in this interview he talks about The Pitt, his current show, the arc of his career, and what it felt like to pay off his student loans thanks to The Pitt. It’s a great read.

Oof lots of tension in this week's episode. It's mostly setting up for the finale, but very effectively done. I feel stressed.

I can't deal with watching Robby tear up again. It's very hard to watch him at this point.

I liked all the action with the medics this week, this was the first time this season they really made them real characters and it was nice.

I enjoy Shawn Hatosy on this show but will admit I find him less hot when he's not in crisis mode.

That said, Patrick Ball is not my jam either. I get that he's objectively attractive but I do not like cleft chins or floppy hair, and I find Langdon to be problematic character who I am more likely to pity than be attracted to.

Season One Noah Wyle is definitely my sweet spot -- a super competent, compassionate ethical, professional man. Swoon. That is part of what has made this season so tough to watch, though.
