Teams will continue to focus on size and speed so RAE is a major wand. Kids born in May-July are the most vulnerable and any kid Jan-July kid not in the top 7-8 on the team should find a backup team asap. Bigger deal on the boys side as it is more competitive and the size/speed differences can be extreme. It's been a long countdown for sure. Kids guest practicing for new teams only a few months away. |
No offense meant, but that isn’t what the studies say. You’re readying your own hope into the studies. |
No hope, just science. RAE is real and older kids are better at soccer than younger kids. This is only confusing to those that have their heads in the sand. |
Most, if not all, players will be replaced. The Elite ECNL girls program will undergo the most significant changes. |
Rae is for ulittles Olders could care lrss. |
Wrong, our B08 RL just beat B09 NL 3:0 in a preseason scrimmage. If my son were 2 months younger, he could easily make the 09 NL team. |
This thread is hilarious. Full of trolls and neurotic parents. Any player that would be impacted by the BY vs SY change has no chance of playing beyond high school. So much angst over something so trivial. |
Dont disagree with the first part but I do the second. High level Aug - Dec kids could be greatly impacted. Not from a skill level, but from a team level. They could still play “up” but would that be best when trying to go to college since their graduation year won’t match with their team? If they play “down” then they’re on a completely new team with maybe 3-4 players they’ve played with before and possibly not as challenged, but they would be on grade when recruiting starts. I think both scenarios qualify as being impacted. |
Age cutoffs impact who will star at showcases and even who makes national teams. All players impacted as the best 3-4 on team go to middle of team and some from middle of team to the best 3-4 one year down. This impacts confidence which greatly affects play. Only places that are small ponds where soccer is a big afterthought of a sport will avoid the big impacts but those kids in those areas get shoved out of the sport soon enough anyway. |
What are you talking about? Show the results, especially the ones where younger teams that are Aug-Dec only dominate. Don't forget, these older teams are mostly Jan-Jul players! |
So you're cheering this? According to soothsayers here, now, you're kid is apparently screwed and will struggle to stay on his RL team. Do you agree with that? |
Dreams aren't trivial. |
Damn, we've replaced SY-60 guy with my RL Aug-Dec kid will be the next Messi OR Rodman, so NL current team kids get out of the way! I'm not sure what's more annoying. |
I am sure some kids are impacted by this one way or another but it is at the margin. The players going to big D1 programs or even pro are already at MLS academies or already being tracked by scouts as one of the top players. These players would always be able to play up and a few months difference in age groups are irrelevant to them. |
Im sure that you're the most annoying person posting on this thread. You want a specific thing and try to diminish everything else. It will be fun watching you jump to some other excuse when you current BY pine riding trap player starts pine riding in SY. |
