Here is how to transfer to any high school in the area

Michelle Reid has bigger fish to fry than to worry about some racist false allegations about a winning football team that has been playing by the rules.

Maybe, but I used to work at a couple Title 1 schools in FCPS and many of the kids who attended these schools were not even Fairfax County residents.
The teachers knew, the office staff knew and no one did anything about it. Most kids were either from parts of Maryland or Prince William Co.
The families simply use someone else's address (a friend, a babysitter, a "relative", etc) within the County as proof of residency. Simple!

FCPS is known to turn a blind eye on things likes these.

These are in person.

She has done these in person Q and A sessions every year since being hired.

They rotate between school locations, but every zone has a local option to attend.

There is no federal crime being committed. FCPS doesn’t have any detectives following the kids around taking pictures or anything. Kids are just going to school for whatever reason.
They provided proof of address, it was accepted, they attend the school, and play football. That’s it. Can we get over this?

If a white coach would have come and turned a football program around the way Overton has, every sports news outlet in the country would be praising the guy. This is crazy what’s happening to Hayfield.

He did not "turn around" Hayfield's football program.

He replaced Hayfield's football team with kids from out of county and out of state.

They’ve been investigated. If Hayfield were found to have violated the rules, any wins would be changed to losses, and any player living out of county or state would not be eligible to play.

I went to the Hayfield/Chantilly game on Friday because I wanted to see what all the noise was about. I wrote down the numbers of the kids that were playing for Hayfield and then looked to see where they played last year. Here is what I came up with:

Offense
they start 6 kids who went to Freedom last year - #'s 6 RB, 7 WR, 13 WR, 71, 51, 52 OL
QB # 5 - St. Johns
WR # 4 - Dematha
so 8 of the 11 players on offense did not go to Hayfield last year.

Defense
They start 4 kids who went to Freedom last year - #'s 6 FS, 7 SS, 3 LB, 52 DL
DE # 12 - Bishop Ireton
They also start 2 freshman #70 DL and #27 CB - who are PME kids who came over with the coaching staff
so 7 of the 12 kids who were playing on defense did not go to Hayfield last year.

I'm not arguing whether those kids transfered/moved in legally or not. I'm simply pointing out that he did not just "coach up" the kids at Hayfield. He did in fact, bring in a completely new team. Make of that what you would like.

As a side note - #6 for Hayfield is about as good a football player as I have seen in my time watching football in this area. I'm pretty sure Coach Overton would have had a great team if he just brought his nephew with him and added him to the existing roster. He is worth seeing if you get a chance.

Thank you for the actual facts/details.

That's 15 transfers playing *plus* 7-8 ineligible transfers still sitting out, plus who knows if therr are any Freedome kids who don't start.

Keep in mind that he charges kids to play on his private AAU team. The kids who pay him to play on that team are the same kids being "rewarded" with start time and positions at Hayfield (including the freshmen).
Pay to play...on a public school team
.

Keep in mind that he charges kids to play on his private AAU team. - Yes, every AAU team in every sport costs money (track, basketball, volleyball, etc...)

The kids who pay him to play on that team are the same kids being "rewarded" with start time and positions at Hayfield (including the freshmen).
Pay to play...on a public school team - chances are they are not "rewarded" but just better players. Most AAU teams take the best. They cut. They do not take anyone who has the money (the good ones) and even if they did, those kids are getting more time in by playing at HS and AAU. More practice = better players

I personally think high school coaches should be barred from running private businesses for the same sport-highly unethical and huge conflict of interest.

Please address the following:

1. Students who are NOT on the team attending practices, team games as if they were on the team, and team events.

2. Unethical and inappropriate behavior by Hayfield teacher and coach "Jeffrey Overton Senior", other adults associated with the team, and "Apostle Karen Bettis-Davis" who is claiming to be a coach and an official preacher for a public high school team

3. What happened to the thousands of dollars raised against FCPS rules?

I agree, I wish FCPS would address this problem. It creates bad incentives for greedy and unethical coaches like Overton.

How many kids did VHSL bar from playing? Was it 8? 9? One fixed their residency issue and played in the second game, but how many did not?

These facts are incredible. Thank you for doing the observations. So now we have for certain minimum numbers. They had *at least* 22 kids transfer to play on the Varsity football team, 15 playing and at least 7 sitting out. And we don't know how many more are sitting on the bench or playing JV? Almost the entire Hayfield starting line up for offense and defense did not attend Hayfield last year!!!!

I have never in my life seen such batsh!t crazynes in FCPS sports. Wow. No wonder the Hayfield parents were appalled.

Has this Coach ever coached a successful public HS school team that he didn't cheat or stack? Freedom doesn't count obviously due to open enrollment.

Social media from team "coaches" and Hayfield teachers:

This lady says she is a Hayfield "coach" and a Hayfield "chaplain"l
Posting a video mocking Chantilly from the team sideline which should be just for authorized staff and players:
https://www.instagram.com/p/DAKfaklpaET/

Her post claiming she is a hired coach. Quote: "Prophetic signs are everywhere. John 13:7 says, “you may not know what I’m doing, but in time you will understand.” I’m honored to join the coaching staff at Hayfield and to serve over 150 student-athletes and their families."
https://www.instagram.com/p/C8puwiVSiPA/

Twitter account for Hayfield SPECIAL ED TEACHER and relative of head coach (coattail hire/favor for Coach) I don't even understand most of what he is trying to communicate here. Is it another language?

(its incoherent but seems to be complaining about "disrespect" from the very thuggish Chantilly HS cheerleaders)

some kind of weird selfie-video:
https://x.com/CoachOvertonJ/status/1837961485320180167

Strange photo collage of strutting around and posing on the Chantilly field, I don't even get what this is but honestly, the grammar and phrasing is very cringey coming from a teacher;
https://x.com/CoachOvertonJ/status/1837682144073687461

Gloating over beating Chantilly with a photo collage of himself looking foolish:

Here, he seems to have a co-coach "Coach Issa" from their private AAU team business write a recommendation for him as if they weren't best buddies. OKAY.

I don't think this person should be teaching anyone, let alone vulnerable and impressionable special education students.

No. He has never been head coach of a public school team without the huge advantage of open enrollment/recruiting (PWC) or cheating (Hayfield).

He seems scared to compete against regular HS coaches without getting himself huge advantages.

it’s not fair to say the man cheated. Serious players may just be following him. In this country people should be innocent until proven guilty

Here's another Official statement from a Hayfield Coach (how are there so many coaches? is this normal?)

Coach Barron Taylor:

telling the Chantilly team "….Lesson Learned, Stop Capping and stay humble"
(what does that even mean?)

It's not exactly "open enrollment." PWC allows students to apply for specialty programs.
