If you haven't heard anything yet, you probably didn't get an offer.

Interesting to see all the focus on MD Select. Wouldn't worry a lot about whether your DD makes it or not, as it does not have much, if any, impact over the longer term with actually important things like getting into showcases like Best in Class, Juniors Open, or American Select in future years.

Maybe good practice to attend a competitive tryout, but most of the top 28s and 29s did not go after Md Select. Not sure it was a thing before that.

I will say that what Coach Haight is doing with the planned Middle School recruiting event with private school coaches in DC and Baltimore area is pretty interesting. Probably means that his Good Counsel program will stay loaded at the very least.

Right MD Select isn't even close to being in same category as a BIC, Juniors, AS or AA, but it is just more reps and chance to play outside of the club team.

Can you elaborate on the middle school recruiting event? What is that?

Agreed. It was a fun try out. Great opportunity to play with some great players but it’s not close to those other teams yet. It may get there though.

It's just a fun side team to your main team to get to play with some other girls, get a little extra exposure when in HS, and have another well known coach on your side when recruiting time comes.

I disagree. If your DD can't make MD Select, that doesn't bode well for BIC and Juniors. Probably time to start worrying.

I would have agreed with this statement yesterday but after seeing the roster and knowing who made it without attending tryouts I have a better sense of how this played out and it doesn’t have much to do with actual lacrosse playing

Directly from an email: “**If you would like to be considered but cannot attend our try-out you must email Coach Haight with highlights and/or recommendations from your Club and/or HS Coaches.”

This for 2030 age group too? My daughter did not make it, but a few of the girls that did make it were very good players.

The vast majority of the girls are top players from top teams. There are a couple of clear misses on cuts and 1-2 who didn’t tryout who many don’t seem to know. I’d assume like everything there’s some politics, but it’s really 2-4 spots at the bottom of the roster in most cases.
