Are you serious? She’s the epitome of ACPS dead weight. She got promoted to #2 or 3 in the district then busted back to AP because she’s so incompetent.

She currently works for ACPS? How is that not a conflict of interest?

If she and Johnson are running, Hutchings/Central office must be worried about losing their control over the SB.

Well, Ignacio has no pull with central office anymore. She probably wouldn’t have a job period if she wasn’t married to a beloved APD detective. She’s so committed to ACPS that she tried to get a superintendent job in WV right around the time she got demoted to AP.

Who is Willie Bailey? He's running in District A. Someone said he is a "living legend" of Alexandria. I googled him and it looks like he lost his city council seat.

I think Willie Bailey is a firefighter and former city council person (who lost in the 2018 primary but to me did a good job).

Someone I know at TC swears Ignacio isn’t running. Has anyone found official candidacy announcements or paperwork?

Can the person who reported that she was at/declared at an event for Patrick "I smashed my girlfriend's face into a metal trash can in front of witnesses" Moran weigh in? Otherwise we'll just have to find out after June 8th when the paperwork is due.

Willie Bailey is a good dude. Alexandria would be lucky to have him.

She’s running. She’s retiring at the end of the school year and running primarily on a “bring back SROs” platform with some MAGA thrown in for good measure.

I’ve never seen Bridget post on there and always found her to be very responsive and approachable in another group she manages (Buy Nothing). I would consider supporting her, but still just learning about these candidates and starting to research. This election isn’t partisan so no primary, right? I do thing change is desperately needed and ACPS school board didn’t hold Hutchings/leadership accountable this year.

I actually found her to be a control freak and strange in thr but nothing group. She seemed to like her sense of power way too much

Some odd characters coming out of the woodwork for this race. Now this Debbie Ash character, in all her MAGA-ness. Yikes.

This is a platform we should ALL be behind for the middle schools and high schools.

Nope. I have no trust that ACPS will protect my child’s rights in interaction with Alexandria police, including SROs already stationed in a school.

Ignacio is well known for trying to get anyone who disagrees with her fired and pretending to be a faculty advocate right up to the moment she plunges a knife into your back. Her absolute inability to do her job and her thinly-veiled racism make her a disaster for the school board.

I like Bridget Westfall—she has kids in ACPS and enthusiastically wants to reopen the schools. She’s worked to keep positive on teachers through her donations.

You want a do-nothing candidate with no opinions go vote for the establishment incumbents. The ACPS school board got nothing done and relinquished all authority to the school. I’ll take a decisive person to move this district along. You may not agree with her 100% of the time but it’s a big improvement over doing nothing.
