The only beauty mistake I see 40+ women making is forgetting themselves and self care! They are taking care of everyone else and not themselves. Other than that, who TF cares if you have grays and a few extra pounds and wear keens? I think my friends look lovely and that is because they still find clothing that makes them feel good and like to express themselves and have fulfilling jobs and lives. Happiness is the best look.

Kate Middleton is very relevant to this thread bc she makes so many 40+ beauty mistakes-too thin, heavy makeup, wrinkles galore, which look super weird when you have a shiny, over-Botoxed forehead.

She looks pretty perfect to me. I give her a pass on the makeup. It is heavy at times, but she is also wearing makeup to be photographed and seen at event, not putzing around at Whole Foods.

PP is right. She’s hideous. When you’re 40+, you can’t just slap on clown makeup, with the excuse you’re going to an event, and expect to look good in pictures or in person. And why does someone who has no job other than to look pretty look so busted? Heavy wrinkles are not attractive and you’d think she has the resources to not look so haggard.

I have never seen her look like she has "clown" makeup on or "busted." You sound jealous.

Lol someone’s triggered. You must be busted too if you think that’s what a normal 40 something looks like.

Somehow I doubt you look better. She looks her age and is in fabulous shape.

NP - I was thinking the same thing LOL.

So then, what are your tips for beauty of color? Do you have anything of substance to add?

Her face looks good for 55. Don’t assume everyone on this board is ugly just bc you are. I’m sure many ppl on here look far better than her.

I’d love to see an example of a plastic free white woman, late 30s that you think looks drastically better/younger

What’s wrong with this?

Plus, not all "foundation" is heavy/cakey. I apply a thin layer of Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer daily; it's an extra layer of sunscreen. There's also a Sheshiedo "self-refreshing" foundation that is light and goes on like a dream and melts into your skin; it also has SPF.

Agree, foundation has come a long way.

I mean, it can still be right for you. The mistake is not re-evaluating to check.

I agree with this. I think the same goes for makeup. Getting stuck on a look and not evaulating if it continues to work for you and flatter as your age. One of the worst makeup offenders:

She’s also example of the mistake of making yourself too thin. Lack of fat in your face makes you look haggard. It also really brings out wrinkles.

These are old photos (pre Louis even). She’s changed her makeup and hair since then. Plus probably gets fillers and definitely gets Botox in her forehead. She looks much fresher and younger now.

Who gives a crap about Kate!!!!! Let’s get this thread back on topic. Thanks!

Seems appropriate here. She looks flawless

And here, from 2021 (Easter and January Scotland trip).

You might like it, but let's at least agree she is still doing it. That nonsense about it only being in old photos is just incorrect.
