The comment was clearly about Virginia and VA Beach FC as a possible VA add to ECNL. Everyone is aware that Beach FC in CA was added. |
What do you know about VA Beach that ECNL doesn’t know? I feel like parents truly believe they understand the market better than the people who run ECNL. I assure you they are extremely competent. A lot of speculation and rumors. So much could have, should have , would have. Very little historical content. Zero facts. Arlington is not getting Girls ECNL just because Arlington has Boys ECNL. It doesn’t work like that. Pure and utter non-sense. If Arlington is getting the nod it’s because of a strategic reason to do so. These decisions are not based on emotions. One of the best clubs in the country had to play ECNL-R just to get back in next year. Maybe it’s time to reflect. |
| Is Arlington going to do ECNL-R for a year? |
I doubt it unless guaranteed admittance. They would lose their pool. |
Or are you asking 2nd teams? |
No. First teams? |
Doubt that |
| Arlington to girls ECNL is still just speculation, right? Nothing official from ECNL yet, right? |
Yes. That’s correct |
Those things are not mutually exclusive. Arlington is in. No it’s not official. |
Apparently neither is reality and truth |
Oh, you must be new to this forum. |

Arlington was offered ECNL. They wanted to pull out their boys and go to new MLS league. ECNL called and said if you keep your boys in we give you the girls. Arlington will decide which way they go but they have everything on the table. All political like always. |
That’s an interesting dilemma. If you don’t go to MLS Next, you risk losing players to clubs like Alexandria if/when MLS Next gets their act together. But, it almost certainly is bad news for your girls program. I’m guessing the Technical leadership wants MLS Next but they’ll get a hell of a fight internally if they go that way. |
