The GOP is broken beyond repair

+1. This sounds great. I'll die of shock if this bill actually has consequences for U.S. businesses.

I mean, if it includes eVerify (which the GOP oppose) and a raise in minimum wage, indexed for inflation, then that would be great.

Note the part where Trump attacks his own Transportation Secretary, Elaine Chao (McConnell's wife) by saying McConnell "has no credibility on China because of his family's substantial Chinese business holdings."

Good. Let them devour each other. McConnell deserves to be eaten by the beast he created; Trump’s decline has only started. He will be old news soon enough as I predict there will be enough Republicans who tire of his bullying even if they didn’t have the balls to take a stand and impeach the guy.

Mitch was just giving the republicans cover for the corporate donors. He just got re elected and will be around for 7 years.

It is an interesting dynamic with the Republican Party. You can raise money through individual donations by staking out a hard right crazy position but you lose corporate money or you take a business friendly approach and get primaried.

Moscow Mitch is absolutely one of the worst humans ever to live in America. He and Trump.

Why didn't McConnell take the opportunity he had (impeachment) to finish Trump off? He could have put the final nail in Trump's coffin and prevented Trump from stringing the GOP along for the next 4 years

State legislator from Deep Red Arkansas just left the Republican Party. Really great statement he made. Rumor is that he will take on Sarah Huckabee Sanders for the governor’s race. I’m impressed. Will be hard to beat any Republican in the midst the Trump kool-aid drinking large population, but it’s a small state so maybe his message gets through. Hope to see more like this.

Because he doesn't have to. He plays these games all the time and the GOP supporters let him. You are operating from a place of reason. Reason and logic don't apply here. They don't care. The GOP leadership doesn't care. The GOP supporters don't care. As long as they get their tax cuts and their judges (and lip service to anti-abortion positions), these GOP supporters will rationalize anything.

Dead link. What's his name?

This is because so much of the human population is...stupid. Well-meaning, perhaps, but really focused only on their own life and...stupid.

I like how Trump thinks we are after covid, and that our economic recovery was the best in the world.

The stock market is not the economy.
