Really? They would all die? Each and every student? Well, that's different from what I heard... |
fire jack smith!!!!!!!!!!!! |
They cannot afford child care after spending $1.5 million on their house, plus their luxury vehicles and vacations. You really don't expect them to take care of their kids all day. |

| I'm very happy with Jack Smith about the Covid response. I am not happy with his actions as an Administrator. As long as they replace him with someone who keeps DL in place, it's fine. |
I'm personally fine with him on all counts. I think he's done a lot to correct the mess that his predecessor created. He's also shown a lot of wisdom with dealing with pandemic which can't be easy especially with all these parents clamoring for their daycare. |
I a completely agree. TheSe are not new issues. When I went to MCPS, we didn’t have a massive population of children who couldn’t speak English and/or who came from difficult economic circumstances. That adds a very different factor to the ongoing problems facing MCPS. This list is a list of opinionated complaints..... where’s the evidence that these things are Smith’s fault? |
not entirely his fault. please name anything he did that justifies his salary. |
He puts up with all the batshit crazy parents and teachers clamoring for his head on a pike! Often more politely described as being a lightning rod or in the hot seat. It's a no-win job, someone has to do it, and that person will catch hell for it regardless of what they do. |
Exactly. He is just a body. All he has been doing is droning on while collecting fat paychecks. So, fire him and give another random body a chance. |

If you think all a superintendent does is listen to people complain, we are seriously overpaying for the position.
Those who think he is so wonderful, I would like to hear why? Several posters have been specific about what they don't like about what he has (and has not) done. For the othere, why are you so impressed with him? |

Agree that this factor alone has had a profound impact on MCPS over the past 10-15 years. |
