ECNL is so overrated . How many ECNL boys play pro soccer? They way people hype this league up more that half of the US born players in pro soccer should be ECNL alumni. News flash they're not!!

Non-ecnl is even worse. Imagine that. State cup is even worss

Ignore the Girl Dad. He has no knowledge about how good some of the non-ECNL boys teams are, such as SYC 03, SOCA, Legacy, Argentinos, etc. Plus, as the other poster pointed out, it’s a girl Dad whose frame of reference is watching kickball.

I wasn't aware of this - but no surprise. Just when you think you've plumbed the depths of their depravity, a whole further chasm opens up beneath you.

Yeah I don't get this at all. Who are these people saying that ECNL clubs are "too good" for the state cup? Crazy.

Loudoun is right on this.

I don't see how anyone can possibly come to the conclusion that Loudoun is right. It seems to me there are two issues raised on this thread and they are completely separate:

1. Should Arlington enter its ECNL teams in the state cup? I don't have a view on this either way.

2. Should Loudoun refuse to reschedule a game when requested (for any reason) in order to gain three points without playing? I can't see how this could be justified under any circumstances.

The trouble is - it's not garbage. Loudoun earned this level of hate the hard way.

What a great deal for all the kids on both clubs who will now sit at home instead of playing a game of soccer this weekend so Loudoun (the club) can claim they beat Arlington. Way to put club before kids yet again.

This is typical of Loudoun. And you know they didn't discuss this with any of the kids or parents who are paying hundreds of dollars per game for their kids to play on an ECNL team either. Loudoun parents should ask for a refund.

Loudoun does this at ANY level. They did it to us (Fredericksburg) this Fall and we play them in NCSL.

But #repthered, right? Lol I feel bad for parents in the Leesburg area forking out money to spineless people like that. Stewardship they say...

OMG - they're willing to stiff kids for an NCSL victory? I hope their mothers love them - because they must have hard time getting love from anyone else in this world.

+1 struggling to see which kids benefit here, except for arlington's

Every other club in the state that enters the competition and relishes the idea of competing against the best teams in the state, so that the trophy they take home means something. That, by the way, is nearly every club in the state. Just - apparently - not Loudoun who would rather get 3 points by sitting at home than playing a game - and duck the state cup every year while claiming to be "too good". What a joke.

You report all of these “facts” about Loudoun including their intent with every action. When you are jaded and ill informed parents living out vendettas. It’s really sad

Absolutely not, which is why I don’t spend time laughing snidely at youth soccer teams, but I will laugh all day at parents who think tournament pecking order matters for their girl going for that soccer scholarship at any school that would probably admit my son as a high school sophomore before he has wasted any time on soccer that he could use finishing projects that will get him into MIT as a senior. Please. Stop laughing and get a grip.
