Not PP. Also, not a crystal ball reader. rather an official that has worked for many years in the area. While I wouldn’t necessarily be excessively graphic with the observation I do have to say their teams across the board are below average. My sister’s kids played for Loudoun and it is hard to grasp their performance considering the resources (money and fields) and bloated pool of players. Just my two cents. |
Agreed. Poor coaching is the main problem. There are a few good ones (R.A.T. for example) who win consistently, proving your point. Not sure why they have such a problem finding more good coaches |
Perhaps one of the great mysteries of the DMV - why isn't LS better? I have a DS who plays for them in the ULittles ages. For the fall, he developed quite a bit individually but his team did not come together as well. He enjoys his coach and team, and is challenged. However, I have noticed the variance in the quality of coaching - quite a range from great to below average. And I'd suggest the player pool is not as deep as some suggest. Yes, there are numbers but the talent at the top end is just not as deep or good as you see at some of the other top tier clubs in CCL. It is baffling. I'd argue for some reason the club is just much stronger on the girls side at the younger ages than boys. But there is not really a club in the area that peels off the talent at the younger ages for boys (unlike the girls where you have FCV). |
| The overall problem to be 100% honest. The overall player pool in the entire DMV is over saturated with anyone willing to "pay to play". The business model has taken a bigger priority in making money over finding and developing talent. Too Many clubs have "ELITE" status. This waters down the the talent level and the best of the best don't train or play together because of it. Since its pay to play many parents would rather send the DC to a club where they will play big minutes and be one of the teams top players. Parent and child egos most of the time prevent them from joining a team where they would be the 10-18 th player. Instead they would rather play for a different club that they are a top 1 - 5 player. Frankly this is why We never see true superstar talent emerge from local clubs. One other point is so many of the really gifted players are priced out of the development process. This is because the model is designed to not turn away the average player who can pay. Bypassing the potentially talented player who cant. Yes every club has scholarships. The issue is offending the local paying family. Could you imagine if Loudoun Soccer decided to make up every single one of their "A" teams full or 90% scholarship kids none of which were even Loudoun residents? All of the other B,C,and D level teams were Pay to play Loudoun families. This model which should be nation wide in my opinion would take away the pipe dream of so many soccer parents in this country. It would also elevate the USA to one of the best soccer countries in the world. |
Your comment is over saturated. |
She is actually a big part of the problem. Winning at all costs at the young age groups and not developing good soccer players is in the DNA of LS. |
| Do you have know how many kids are receiving scholarships? Most likely not. My daughter played at Loudoun for a long time and we didn't know financial status of anyone. |
This may or may not be true as applied to LS once you get to U13 and older, but it's not even close of an explanation for why LS is not stronger/deeper at ULittle, especially on the boys side. Usually the Red (and sometimes Black) teams at LS on girls side at ULittle is very strong. Plus LS rec teams at ULittle usually do very well at Rec All Star tournaments, again more so on girls side. |
I think the problem starts at U littles. The top kids are placed on top team and from there on out not all but majority stay on top teams. This is due to the keeping the paying customer happy. Also the club can then say they developed kids since they were U littles once they get u15 and above. Its almost like a false advertisement. They truth is most clubs who have larger player pools tend to appear to have top developed teams at U little ages. When you look at some of the top players on bigger clubs U16 and up rosters. Those kids weren't always at that club as a U little. |
If not the biggest. Her ego and foul attitude runs rampant and has the club grabbed by the privates forcing her daughter (who has no capability whatsoever to work with children nor the experience - my DD ‘player’ under her) to be an E licensed coach at the so-called higher tiers. Jumped right in before folks that have been at the club for years. Some a decade or more. Hasn’t nepotism being covered in just about every LS thread? Wonder why. |
So if she’s so bad why do her teams win consistently and many of her players go on to have success with other clubs as they get older? I don’t really know her or the situation, just seen the results, hence the honest question. |
Winning at U11, 12 or 13 doesn't mean anything. Many of her players? Loudoun is a huge club so it is pretty safe to say that some players are going to be good regardless of the coaching with that size of the club. |
It is hard to win at any age if your coach is clueless. Sounds like you don’t like tough, hard-nosed coaches. You’re one of those no child left behind people, huh? |
Nah, RAT is a person who needs to belittle and insult little girls to be a winning coach. Fits right in with a spineless organization that prouds itself in stealing tens of thousands of $ on top of a half a million $ loan from the federal government. |
This comment fits right in with a spineless man who prides himself in making anonymous, online comments. Put your name on it, coward. |
