DCE will be around as long as parents want their kids to use lax to get into great schools. DCE now has the best HS teams in DMV. Don’t bother looking at MS teams—they don’t matter. Watch how best players migrate to DCE in HS. Just like the Crabs used to do in Baltimore for all those years. No one cares how Crabs 8th grade team did because everyone knew it was a new ball game with frosh team.

It will be interesting to see if DCE can keep it up. Their teams so far have been impressive.

Best HS teams? 2021 is finishing most are done. 2022 maybe but ML is close and 2023 and 2024 DCE is either third or fourth in DMV.

Question from a parent of boys in younger age groups but looking ahead to find the "best" HS teams for my sons when they get there - why is it important to be on the dominant team - isn't a player more likely to be noticed by college coaches if he is one of the best players on a team that is respectable and well-coached, but not the best?

More specifically, assuming that the top HS programs in the DMV are DCE, Madlax, VLC, and NextLevel, how does it help a player to be on whichever one has bragging rights over the other three? When college coaches scout games I doubt they track of who won or lost. It seems that a player with college aspirations might be better off as the leader on whichever of those four is weakest in his age group, so he will have the most opportunity to make plays that help his team and help himself get noticed.

Am I right or wrong?

What matters is exposure. And DCE 2022 got invited to Midnight Mania 2 weeks ago where the top 8 teams competed on the eve of the recruiting season. So these DCE players got to compete against best players in the class and get a ton of exposure. NL 2022 is close? I don’t think so.

Again, watch what happens over the next year with DCE 2023. I might be wrong but watch this team attract the top talent in the area because those kids want the same type of commitments to college that 2021 got and DCE 2022 is getting.

Fair point. Just as important, now that players can’t commit until Junior year, the in person ID clinics were becoming as important as which club you played for . Impact of Covid cancelling in person college ID clinics is elevating role of clubs - college coaches have to lean on old faithful.

Yeah, exposure is what matters. So essentially you want to be on the best team that will feature you. Often can be better to be the third best attackman on a really strong team than the best attackman on a good, but not top ranked team just because of the exposure factor. That is probably at a premium with 2022. For more normal classes, there are lots of other ways to get noticed beyond club, so maybe not as big of a deal for other years.

2023 are sophomores. Little movement after entering HS.

I noticed Madlax isn’t pulling Ivy League commits like DCE is. Cabell’s reputation may have finally caught up to him.

Please list DCE Ivy League commits on 2021 and 2022 teams?
