People of all races think that title 1 schools aren't as good. |
He asked the principal, but he didn’t properly inform the PTA at the beginning. The PTA were just told this guy was fundraising a bunch of money, and understandably, started daydreaming about how they’d use it. Then they got the rug pulled out from under them when they found out they couldn’t use the money. A better message at the start would have been, “hey, we’re getting a French immersion program, and we don’t have to pay for any of it!” I think there would have been a lot less bad blood. Even better if the principal had announced it. |
Well, this Asian*-American* is pretty fed up with white people exploiting discrimination against us to perpetuate a racism system that benefits them the most. |
This! -1/2 Asian |
Tropes? If that’s what the kids were that’s not a trope or racist. It’s the truth. |
Soooo if you benefited equally it would be cool. And let's not speak on the reputation Asians and Asian Americans have of being racist against black people. |

So nice white parents are supposed to voluntarily dumb down their own kids so that non whites can catch up and we all join up in the resulting muddle in the middle?
Sorry to have to break the news to you but the competition for the poors in America is not the children of the nice white parents in America. If only life was that easy! The rest of the world is rightfully practicing elite education and going all in on promoting their best and the brightest - not their worst and their dumbest. Why do you think the USA is at the bottom of global educational comparisons? Wrong minded altruism. Nice white parents need to stop being so nice and start looking out for their own. If you can't raise your own kids on your own then forget about having kids and forget about expecting others to raise them properly for you - just to make you feel equal. |
Well the point is that nice white parents are politely continuing to act in the best interest (real or perceived) of their own children. |
Wow. Would you like to say that again with your real name attached? I'm sure your employer would be interested in hearing your views. |
That's not the issue in the podcast. The issue is that these parents have a lot of other choices for their children's education, but they chose to go to this underperforming, majority minority school, and instead of being full, equal participants in the school, they essentially created a separate track (including separate fundraising) for their own children, and disrespected the existing culture and power structure of the school. |
Maybe pp is the employer. |
so like AAP leading to TJ? |
|
In an ideal world everyone would bend a bit. Have your fancy fundraisers for French but direct some of that money to the general pta. I think French immersion was open to everyone. Didn't they mention an arab/turkish student? |
| Pretty sure this is going over the heads of every race living in North Arlington. Easy to just blame whites but plenty of AA and Asians chose NA for the good schools and are wringing hands over AAP in parts of Fairfax. |
