| My surgery was outpatient and I had general anesthesia. I HAD to have someone at the surgery center the entire time and I couldn't drive for 24 hours post op. I was there at 12:30 and left about 4:00 (surgery was at 2pm). It's only been a few days since my surgery. I've been cramping, at times severe but not like contractions! And I've been spotting but other than that it was a relatively pain free procedure. I have my post op appt on Monday. |
I'm so happy I found this form. I'm 25 my husband and I have been trying for many years with no luck
I discovered from my fertility dr few years ago I had pcos. But he said everything looks great on me so with the meds I should have no prob getting pregnant. After tests it showed I had a polyp in my uterus. But he said it was small and nothing to worry about tubes were fine. Well after 5 cycles of clomid everything worked great even ovulated with ovidrel but all BFN. Then we moved to Bravelle had 3 mature follicles did IUI still BFN. Another cycle but this time follistim 4 mature BFN. last year in May I started having really heavy periods again and bad acne and spotting and cramps all the time. So I went to my gynecologist and after an ultrasound she said my polyps were causing the bleeding, heavy cyles and maybe even infertility. So I got them removed a month later. Now after taking a break off the meds . I started Bravelle again and this friday I go in to see how many follicles I made and if they are matured enough to do the ovidrel and timed intercourse. I pray they are!! This is our last injection cycle. Next is saving up for IVF. I'm hoping the reason why I wasn't getting pregnant all these years was all because of my polyps. We will hopfully find out!!! My step son , hubby and I are Praying for a BFP!!!! |
Hello I am 41 and have been through a multitude of test since starting to try and conceive this past March 2013. Being over 41 they almost always send u straight to a fertility specialists. Going to a fertility specialists they took lots of blood for multiple tests than did an ultrasound where they saw 1 pedunculated fibroid on outside of uterus. Since she wasn't sure if it was a fibroid or cyst on ovary I went back next day to get more intense 30 min ultrasound and sonogram. They found 2 more pedunculated fibroids on outside of uterus, said they looked like Mickey Mouse ears which I didn't really find amusing, but said inside of uterus looked clear ,,,,,Which later I find out was wrong. Next we did an HSG test where they shoot ink up in uterus to check for abnormalities and blocked tubes. Tubes were not blocked but he saw a shadow in my uturus which turned out to be a 1. Cm polyp kind of taking up a decent amt of space inside uturus. HSG procedure was painful But not THAT horrible because i took meds ahead of time, 2 tylenols with codeine, and didnt have blocked tubes. Take strong painkiller meds before getting HSG the quick expansion of uterus will cause sometimes severe cramping..... I bled like light period 2 days after and spotted brown for about 5 more days than had annoying vaginal burning for another week. They finally gave me antibiotic doxycycline but honestly it didn't do much think burning was more chemicals , and hormones readjusting and healing process. Next I had a saline ultrasound to confirm the polyp this procedure for me was more painful than the HSG test. dr said I should have a hysteroscopy and a polypectomy? So today I had the hysteroscopy surgery.... They do put u under which was a terrifying first time especially not knowing what else they would find, but all went well and the med staff was super super nice. Dr removed a 1 cm polyp and didnt see anything else
It takes a little while for antheseology meds to where off but only slight cramping right after and little bleeding. So now next month hopefully will TTC although I still have high HSH levels and good AMH levels. Just wanted to share experience if anyone has any question

Hi everyone,
We have been trying for a year. Did tests and we have unexplained infertility. I had 3 cycles of IUI + clomid and 2 cycles of injectables with IUI with no luck. They saw I had a small polyp and when he got in to remove it saw another two by the tube opening and several others were forming. He removed them and scraped my uterus lining to remove the tinny ones forming. Im hoping this was the cause of my infertility issues. we are going to try on our own while we save for IVF but hoping we will get pregnant in the meantime. My doctor suggested I try another round of injectables with iui... any thouhgts? and I would love to hear from some more people who have gotten pregnant after removing polyps... D |
| Getting polyp removed next week my husband has very low sperm count will iui work? |

Hi,
I am having a 5mm polyp removed next week. Dr thinks this may have prevented implantation, however my husbands sperms motility has dropped from 42% to 20%. Just wondering if anyone else has had the motility issues and if they managed to conceive naturally. We are attending a fertility clinic at present but have put all on hold until after the polyp removal. Appreciate any info. This Forum has given me high hopes.

I know this is an old post, but I like to come back on the boards I can and post, because it wasn't long ago the I was crying and researching the internet for answers to my secondary infertility!
I had my first child, no problem. Actually right off the pill, with an uncomplicated pregnancy and perfectly healthy baby. We waited 2 1/2 years to try for number 2. Again, I got pregnant right away and at 10 weeks, went for a sonogram and baby did not have a heartbeat. I was devastated and had to have a d & c the next day. After 2 cycles, I tried to conceive again and was frustrated when it didn't happen as quick. I started ovulation kits and keeping a calendar and finally that March (5 months later), I got pregnant, but miscarried within days fo the positive test. The exact same thing happened in June and I went to see a specialist! Within 2 months, he found a polyp just outside my fallopian tube in my uterus (via a saline ultrasound). I had it removed and 4 weeks later I was pregnant! I am due in 6 days and thank god ever day for this baby! Best of luck to all of you!!! |
| Thanks for your story! I am 2 months (yesterday) post polyp removal. Doc said to wait 2 months before TTC again. I'm crossing my fingers this month is our month! Enjoy your new bundle of joy! |

I'm so happy found this tread and i am not alone. Me and my husband been married since 2003. We never trying and never use any protection.
Year 2006 my doctor told me i should try to have baby and she wanted me to take all the blood work before having one and she even told me to check if my tube even open ( HSG) all the result came Normal but my husband sperm is border line and end up normal result when we doing AI and we still wanna try with natural but all we got is negative result, they send me to specialist, told me to do AI and still failed. My husband told me.. don't need to waste money just let it be. if happen is happen. Year 2013 my worryness start bugging me. I go to the doctor and ask to send me to specialist for asking about IVF (she did) Specialist doctor book appointment for me for Hyteroscopy and found 3 polyps inside my uterus 2 weeks ago. Yesterday June 20th my polyp removed, now i felt just little cramp but not that bad. I need everyone opinions. My husband kept saying just try as naturally now and don't think about IVF yet. since the doctor found a polyps insider your uterus it may cause the problems. I (31) and my husband (35) my doctor told me to go with IVF since i have been trying for so long. but my husband told me to try naturally first, but i hate for waiting with negative result again in the future.. please give me advice what should i do? and what the best for me? Thanks before.. and baby dust to yall who trying! God Bless You.. |
Hello, how is it going for you now? I am in the same situation. I had D&C for polyp 10 days ago and still feel cramping and so worried. Please share with me your experiences - this will help me a lot. Thank you. |
I am so happy for you. I am in the same situation. I had my D&C 10 days ago and still feel cramping. I searched the Internet but all bad things were said. I am so stressful now. Your post is really encourage. I still feel cramping after 10 days post D&C for polyp - not sure because of stress or because of the procedure. My doc said I wait for 1 cycle and can TTC. Is that the same for you? God bless all of us! |
| A friend TTC for 5 years (charting and all) before seeking help. Turns out she had several uterine polyps. Had them removed and on her 8th cycle postop she was pregnant! |
| My update...first month TTC 2 months post polyp removal resulted in BFN. I had my annual last week and talked to doc. She gave me a prescription for clomid 50mg. It was too late this month but will start it next month. She also wants me to have another HSG done next month. Husband finally went for SA and we are waiting for those results. Who knows maybe we got the job done this month and won't have to worry about the rest. I'll know next weekend when AF is due to arrive. |
| Looks like I won't need the Clomid after all. 4 months after polyp removal (10 total months TTC), I got 3 BFP today!! One thing I did do differently this month was to take regular Mucinex for 5 days starting a couple days before ovulation. I read it helps thin the CM and thus giving sperm assistance in swimming! |
Hi, it's me again. Saw this thread and realized I had posted here with my first post-polyp pregnancy. I gave birth in October of 2010 and I am happy to report that I gave birth again in October of 2012 after another natural conception (in fact, since we had a 1 year old at the time of conception and I was barely getting any sleep, I frankly don't even remember it - must have been an immaculate conception). |
