I am so happy I found this! I was told today I MAY have a small endometrial polyp but it was too small to measure and to have a cervical synogram which I am scheduling this Monday. I am getting married in 7 months and ALL we want is to have a happy healthy family, this news today really scared me. After reading all these amazing outcomes I know it may not be easy but I am hoping we too can have our happy family! My soon to be hubby just wants to make sure it's nothing cancerous, of course me I feel the same way but I just want to thank each and everyone one of you who shared your stories and I am hopping I will have one to share at some point in my future!

First, I'd like to thank all pf you for posting your stories, most of them are very encouraging. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost 4 years. We originally were just seeing my gynecologist, they did a bunch of tests including an HSG and saline ultrasound. They thought I might have polyps but the ultrasound was unsuccessful because the saline water would not stay in my uterus, so everything was inconclusive. My husband also had tests done with a urologist and everything came back clear except for a slightly low sperm count. We put the testing on hold or a while because we weren't sure what are next steps were. Fast forward a year... A couple weeks ago we decided to see an actual RE. We were going to start IUI. He ordered a bunch of tests and blood work, and another saline ultrasound... and low and behold I have two polyps in my uterus that will be taken out in a week. I am not sure of the size, but the RE seems very confident of our chances with IUI after the polyps are removed. This will be my first surgery and I was very nervous, but all of your stories have giving me peace and hope. I will be sure to update again once I get my BFP!! Thinking positive!

I have been told i may or may not have a polyp in my uterus, at the time of my scan i had some spotting, so the picture wasn't very clear. She told me that my uterus was unusually thick for somone who just had a period a few days before. I had diarrhea and headaches, stomach cramps but no heavy bleeding. Actually for once my period was lighter than usual and spotting in the beginning brown, then red for a couple of days. 10 days after my period finished, I started spotting again light pink and light brown just once then nothing. Who knows what she will discover, my appointment is Saturday!
I'M SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS! So, after about 7 years of not trying to stop conception but not actively trying the whole time...nothing! I have 2 step children and I love them dearly but hubby and I want to try for one of our own. So, with a change in job and benefits...I have the "we'll treat the diagnosis and causes of infertility" green light with my insurance. I see the RE for our consult and pelvic exam and because of my cycle time I went back yesterday for an SIS and he found 2 polyps. I go back next week for an HSG and the folowing week to set up surgery date to remove the polyps. It's going so fast. These posts give me hope in that he found a problem, is going to fix the problem and hopefully we can conceive soon.
no do not wait any longer, just go for the IUI of what ever treatment possible, trust me, i am talking out of experience. i hope to also share my story with you ladies soon.

Wow, it feels good to find this thread. Just had hysteroscopy/D&C/polypectomy on Monday. I want to agree with the general consensus. This was a GOOD thing!
We had been TTC for almost 2 years (with some breaks). Finally went to see reproductive endocrinologist and everything came back ok except subclinical hypothyroidism and polyps. However doc said it's not clear that polyps block pregnancy. Hysteroscopy showed multiple polyps, some >1cm. I think there was no room left for anything else. One QUESTION- how many ladies also had thyroid issues? I am wondering what caused such a large number of polyps since I don't have any risk factors- I'm not overweight (I have gained about 10 pounds in the last couple of years, but I am still within normal range), my estrogen levels were normal, and I didn't take Tamoxifen. Just looking for answers... |
i have been facing infertility since i had mc in 2009, recently in june came to know abt having a polyp.doc removed that and now i m waiting to get pregnant again.plz pray for me.
This thread really helped me today. I'm 30 and I've been TTC #1 for two years without a hint of a BFP.. The RE has said its Unexplained Infertility because all of my tests (hsg, sis, blood levels, ultra sounds) are normal. After 3 failed IUIs, my husband and I decided to move forward with IVF. I went in today for the mock embryo transfer (they just insert a catheter into the uterus and do a ultrasound at the same time) and the RE found a polyp. Now they're saying this may be the cause of my unexplained infertility..which I don't understand because the polyp has never shown up on any other test (and I've had a million ultrasounds during those IUI cycles). The RE also said I've had some fluid in my lining during those CD3 ultrasounds which may be connected to this polyp. Anyway, I'm having the polyp removed next week and will then put IVF on hold and TTC naturally for a few cycles. I'll update. Hugs to you all.
I got my uterine polyp removed on july 2nd and found out I was pregnant in early august
|
Btw I am 37 and we have been trying naturally for almost 9 months before the uterine polyp surgery. I did not know that i had a polyp. I was just suffering severe menstural pain and nausea. We were really happy to find out that I got pregnant immediately after the surgery. We did wait for one period before trying though according to the doctor's advice. The polyp really has to be removed.
yes I just had 1 pulp removed

I have a Polyp but its very small. like .07 - im 36 yr old. Everything else is functioning properly. Hoping if this gets removed, we can conceive..! I have normal periods though.
