Moderates and supporters of free enterprise: it's time to get behind Joe Biden

Bernie has NO shot with the center or "never Trumpers" and there won't be enough "Bernie Bros" to overcome the Trump base. Trump will spend all summer calling Bernie a socialist and there really is no counter to it, particularly as more footage of 1980's Bernie comes out, where he extols Soviet Communism and bad dictators.

SC is one of the most conservative and Republican states in the country. Virtually all Black voters are Democrats and make up the majority of the DEMOCRATIC electorate.

Look, with Biden-Abrams, that ticket will carry SC! Graham will lose his seat too. Trump knows full well he can’t beat Biden. He destroys Yrump in the rust belt because white racist voters there will see him as a more genial, lunchbuckety substitute for Trump.

Biden-Abrams would be this century's version of Mondale-Ferraro. In which case they would win Delaware and that's about it. Joe the other day in South Carolina: "Guess what, if you elect me, your taxes are going to be raised, not cut." You can expect to hear that line again in the general election.

Would you rather he lie like the GOP? Our debt and deficit spending are ballooning. Reality is, at least the Trump tax cuts need to be reversed.

Down with it. Bernie will be the nominee and he’ll win. Most people on this board are out of touch economically with the issues the rest of us are facing.

No. If Sanders is the nominee, he’s going to lose. Blue-collar voters in key Midwestern states by and large don’t want socialism. Furthermore, some of Sanders’ ideas on immigration, like abolishing ICE, are only going to fuel the xenophobic and racist rhetoric from Trump that helped him capture key states in 2016, such as Michigan and Wisconsin.

+1

Bernie will never win in any state full of educated Latinos.

Are you implying that Nevada's Latinos are somehow uneducated?

“An analysis by WalletHub ranked Nevada 43rd overall with the state ranking 30th in terms of quality of education and 44th in education attainment. In order to determine the rankings, WalletHub examined 18 factors including number of degree holders, quality of school system, school engagement of students and education attainment levels.”

I’ll never vote for Bernie, under any circumstances. I’ll write someone else in if Bernie is on the ballot in November.

So basically you’re voting for Trump. This attitude is what got him elected in the first place.

You didn't care about deficit spending when Obama was in office. JFK lowered taxes when he entered office.

Obama was widely praised for cutting the deficit gradually as the economy improved. Trump has blown it wide open. and when Kennedy came in the office he lowered taxes, but from historic highs.

That's a fantasy. Obama was widely praised by DNC'ers which means nothing to me. He accused Bush of being unpatriotic for deficit spending. Then he doubled down.

History doesn't begin when you want it to.

For those that think that Sanders is really popular, he's not. He's currently winning the delegate count essentially the same way Trump beat Clinton, by winning the delegate count.

Biden has been saying that he's won more votes than Sanders to date and he's correct. Here are the current standings after 4 contests:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_2020_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries

State: Biden(Total votes, Pledged delegates), Sanders (Total votes, Pledged delegates)

Iowa: Biden (26291, 6), Sanders (43581, 12)
New Hampshire: Biden (24911, 0), Sanders (76355, 9)
Nevada Biden (18424, 9), Sanders (35652, 24)
South Carolina (256111, 39, 105226, 13)

Total: Biden (325737, 54), Sanders (260814, 58)

Just like the electoral college, the delegate counts favor smaller states and give more weight to smaller populations. Sanders is currently leading by winning smaller states. Sanders is not really that popular. And I expect that Biden will continue to outpace him in actual votes. However, Sanders is currently stronger in delegate totals and it seems like he will stay that way after Super Tuesday. As the Biden camps puts it, their goal is to be close enough to Sanders to be competitive and to distance themselves from any other candidates and try to make it into a 2 horse race to really narrow the field down to moderate vs progressive and try to win the post-Super Tuesday races in the narrower field.

Meanwhile Biden forgets Chris Wallace's name yesterday....all in for Joe?!

OP here. Glad to see Buttigieg and Klobuchar have seen the writing on the wall. Now will Warren do the same? And really Bloomberg - put your ego aside and put your money into supporting Biden.

I'm in the center and I voted for Bernie in the VA primary! Not seeing the momentum with Biden. Never thought I'd vote for a democratic socialist but here I am..

If you watch his cadence, searching for words and losing track of where he is speeches, it's clear he is unfit for office.

No, Warren serves a useful purpose to present a viable progressive alternative to Sanders. Additionally she is a candidate that also stands some chance in a brokered convention. Sanders' only hope in changing his plurality to a majority and winning the first ballot is to have Warren drop out. Fortunately, her fundraising has been very strong and she has the money to stay in the race and continue to keep Dr. Emmett Brown from winning a majority.

The important question is who will Warren endorse once she is out?
