Moderates and supporters of free enterprise: it's time to get behind Joe Biden

We need an experienced hand to take on the challenges we face as a nation. I am not at all convinced that Bernie's so-called Revolution is feasible let alone desirable. Turning away existing people in the hope nonvoters and young people show up is too big a risk to take.

Who has appeal to the college-educated women of the suburbs, the blue collar working men and women of the rust belt, and is beloved in the African American community? Joe Biden.

Biden is someone I could support being President. I still prefer Trump, but Biden is okay with me too. I hope he brings along Amy Klobuchar or Andrew Yang as VP. That would really make me pause before checking the box for Trump.

As was pointed out repeatedly for Bernie, Biden failed to win a majority. Most voted for anyone BUT Biden. Why do I want to support him?

In SC? Nope, I think he broke 50%, which is impressive with seven names on the ballot.

Where do you get your news? 48% is quite a bit less than 50%. I suppose CNN could be posting fake news.

Are you a Trump supporter or Bernie supporter or both?

And now the Bernie Bros are pointing out that "Biden got less than 50%." Ironic.

I realize that people aren’t thrilled with the slate of candidates....turnout has been anemic....but it’s time to rally behind Biden. Pete and Amy should drop out immediately.

OP here. Forgot to mention Elizabeth Warren. She has no path to victory either. I suspect her support is split between Bernie and the moderates. She should drop out and endorse Joe.

Agreed. The AA turnout was over 50% of those voting in a state where the AA population % is 27%. Anemic is correct.

SC is one of the most conservative and Republican states in the country. Virtually all Black voters are Democrats and make up the majority of the DEMOCRATIC electorate.

Turnout was way up from 2016, wasn’t it? I thought I read that.

This is the golden response on this thread, thank you pp! These are the voters who matter right now. Pay attention people!

I'm posting pp's response to the Biden VP thread.

Gender is still important sadly. If Pete were a woman former mayor, wouldn’t even be in this. If Amy were a man, she’d be the nominee.

Disagree. Voters said the same thing about a black president. Hillary won the popular vote.

Don't muddy the waters!

Then why do we care? It's going Trump regardless of Bernie or Joe.

NP. I said before, we never really know who the silent majority is until they finally speak. My first choice was Bloomberg but I’m happy to put a vote towards Biden on Tuesday. His popularity and name recognition is making him more electable.

+1. Most people don’t follow politics. If they don’t know a name, they’re going with a name they know. Sometimes its that simple, especially for many of the simple minded.
