| Whatever, I had two donuts and OJ this morning for breakfast... it just sounded good. However, I'm pregnant and not much sounds good to me so when I do feel like eating something I'm jumping on it... and won't be eating donuts regularly (hasn't had one yet - 16 mos). Sure, she may have one occasionally but she eats healthy for the most part and I am proud of that. No harm in an occasional treat (for mom OR for kids!). |

I was thinking about this last night (because clearly I am obsessed with DCUM), and for some reason anytime my cousins visited, my mom would buy junk food for breakfast (cinamon buns, sugar cereal). For that reason we LOVED when my cousins visited. But could it be that the mom isn't feeding this stuff to her children "every day", but it was more because the OP was visiting?
I wonder if my aunt and uncle thought all we ate was crap. |

no, healthful eating doesn't make her a drag, but her preachy attitude does. and you're lemming approval makes you dumb, but perhaps not a drag. she posted not to answer the OP's question, which really was quite simple, but to toot her own organic horn. and then offered a lengthy defense of her preachy ways. that's what makes her a drag. and to the OP -- we don't have donuts and crystal light for breakfast every day. our breakfasts vary and are surely better some days than others. we have the occasion donut on saturday mornings b/c we can walk to the bakery down the street. we try to make good decisions, but there are mornings when we (the parents) fail and just go with convenience. generally, our good days probably outnumber the bad, and when we're all as busy as we are, i chalk that up to the win category. |
| ^ PP here. you lemming approval, not you're. |
| ^ PP here again! third time's the charm... YOUR lemming approval. oy vey. |

Re a previous comment about fruits and vegetables. DS will eat tons of fruit, but dislikes vegetables. (Although we serve them, he doesn't eat them.) I asked our pediatrician and she said, quote, "There is nothing in vegetables that a person can't get from eating a variety of fruits," and to not worry at all about DS not eating vegetables as long as he eats a lot of fruit.
